ADI launches intrinsically safe certified digital isolators

Analog Devices has launched the industry's first digital isolators certified for intrinsic safety (IS) in compliance with IEC 60079-11:2011 standard.
The ADuM144x 4-channel digital isolator family featuring iCoupler® technology is suitable for designing electrical equipment used in hazardous areas. By using IS-certified digital isolators, there is no need for multiple diodes and resistors, which simplifies circuits and reduces PCB board space, component costs, and design complexity compared to conventional optocouplers.
Additionally, the ADuM144x delivers high data rates to increase operational efficiency and reduce installation costs compared to other protection methods. With extremely low power consumption, isolation can be implemented with minimal energy in hazardous areas. ADI's ADuM144x quad digital isolator is available in compact 16-lead QSOP (2.5kV) and 20-lead SSOP (3.75kV) packages.

Analog Devices' micropower ADuM144x 4-channel digital isolator has shipped over 1.8 billion channels, is isolated against magnetic fields, and combines high-speed complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) and semiconductor air-core transformer technology, making it safe, reliable, and easy to use.
Operating at a low supply voltage of 2.25V, the ADuM144x digital isolator is well-suited for applications such as industrial field instruments. These newly launched products have received intrinsic safety certification from CSA-Sira and IECEx, international inspection and certification bodies.

ADI Launches MCUs That Minimize Power Consumption in IoT Edge Nodes
Analog Devices has launched an ultra-low-power microcontroller (MCU) to address demand for advanced algorithms while minimizing system power consumption at IoT edge nodes. The ADuCM4050 MCU consists of an ARM® Cortex®-M4 core with floating-point unit, extended SRAM, and embedded flash memory, enabling local decision-making where only critical data is transmitted to the cloud. The new MCU maintains low-power states while ADI's sensor and RF technologies collect data through SensorStrobeTM technology. This achieves system-level power consumption reduction of over 10 times, extending battery life and increasing product usage time after charging.

ADI Releases Step-Down Regulator Supporting 65V Input
Analog Devices has announced the launch of LT8645S, a new synchronous step-down switching regulator supporting 8A and 65V input. The Silent Switcher® 2 architecture implemented in this product is characterized by the use of two internal input capacitors, as well as internal BST and INTVCC capacitors to minimize hot loop area. The LT8645S adopts a design in which stabilized switching edges and internal circuits are coupled to the ground plane and uses copper traces instead of bonding wires, thereby significantly reducing EMI/EMC emissions. Thanks to the improved EMI/EMC performance, the design is simplified by being less susceptible to board layout effects, and risks are reduced even when using 2-layer PC boards.
