SK Telecom Expands IoT Service to Officetel with Woosung Construction

SK Telecom announced that it has signed a contract with Woosung Construction to provide voice-recognition artificial intelligence (AI) device 'NUGU' and IoT-based smart home services for officetels, following partnerships with major construction companies such as Hyundai E&C, LH Corporation, and SK Construction.
This contract aligns with the expanding trend of single-person households, with both companies integrating advanced ICT technology into studio-type officetels where small households primarily reside.
Both companies plan to introduce various smart home services in package form, starting with 480 units of 'Woosung Le Beau Park II' in Hanam Misa Riverside City, which begins presales at the end of May, and subsequently in other officetels to be sold.
'Woosung Le Beau Park II' comes standard equipped with NUGU, smart switches (lighting), smart plugs, SOS buttons, and door sensors.
SK Telecom and Woosung Construction expressed expectations that through their cooperation combining daily life with advanced IT, residents will enjoy improved convenience in their lives through advanced ICT services such as artificial intelligence and IoT. Additionally, both companies plan to expand smart home services by providing built-in cooling and heating systems in future officetels.
Choi Jong-seok, Managing Director of Woosung Construction, stated, "By applying voice-recognition AI speakers and smart homes to officetels, we have been able to further upgrade residents' convenience and security," and added, "Going forward, we plan to continue cooperating with SK Telecom to apply various smart home solutions and lead cutting-edge offetel residential culture."

SKT-NVIDIA Begin Joint Research on Autonomous Vehicles
SK Telecom announced that it has concluded a strategic agreement with NVIDIA on autonomous driving and has begun joint technology development. Through the agreement, the two companies decided to collaborate in various fields including ▲production of 3D ultra-precision maps (HD Map), a core autonomous vehicle technology ▲vehicle communication (V2X, etc.) based on next-generation networks such as 5G ▲autonomous driving platform serving as the 'brain', and other areas. SKT Unveils Platform for Anyone to Create VR and AR Content
SK Telecom announced that it will unveil the AR/VR platform 'T real VR Studio' at 'Google I/O 2017', a Google developer conference held in Mountain View, California, where Google's headquarters is located. T real VR Studio, being showcased for the first time, is an upgraded version of the integrated AR/VR platform T real that SK Telecom released in April of last year, enhanced through integration with Google's VR platform Daydream. T real VR Studio enables users to directly create VR content in a mobile environment. Existing VR platforms are based on PC and operate on a structure where users passively consume content created by professional designers or developers. T real VR Studio allows users to intuitively create VR content without specialized knowledge by wearing a VR device (HMD) and building content as if stacking LEGO blocks.

The AI-based asset management platform SolarOnCare is deployed across more than 3,000 power plants nationwide, achieving a system uptime of 99.82% and a 3.7% improvement in power generation performance. Through real-time data analysis, it protects power generation revenue by detecting and managing minor losses such as module degradation and partial shading early on.
