LG Electronics Unveils Outdoor Smartphone Suitable for Leisure Activities

LG Electronics is introducing a practical outdoor smartphone to the global market for customers who enjoy sports and leisure activities. The 'LG X Venture' smartphone will be launched starting in North America. It is then scheduled for sequential release in emerging markets, including Latin America and the Middle East/Africa.
'LG X Venture' is a product focused on durability capable of withstanding exposure to moisture or foreign substances during outdoor activities, and it has obtained the 'Military Standard,' a military standard recognized by the U.S. Department of Defense. It passed a total of 14 tests, including drop tests, as well as tests for low and high temperatures, high humidity, vibration, solar radiation, and low pressure.
The 'LG X Venture' features a shatter-resistant display to enhance safety and is rated IP68. It is equipped with a 5MP 120-degree wide-angle camera on the front, allowing users to take photos against a wide-open natural backdrop without a selfie stick.
In particular, it is equipped with the proprietary app 'Outdoor Essentials,' which provides various information necessary for outdoor activities (barometric pressure, direction, steps/calories/distance, etc.) all at once. Additionally, pressing the 'Glove Mode' button allows users to easily check their smartphone data without removing their gloves while playing golf or hiking. In addition, it features a large 4,100mAh battery and supports Quick Charge 2.0, which can charge to 50% in 48 minutes.
LG Electronics MC Business Division President Cho Jun-ho emphasized, “It is a phone I would recommend to customers who enjoy outdoor activities, equipped with durable yet practical features,” adding, “We will strengthen our value-for-money lineup with differentiated functions and reasonable prices by reflecting the voices of various customers.”

LG Uplus Joins Hands with Cuckoo Electronics to Create IoT Rice Cooker
LG Uplus announced that it will partner with Cuckoo Electronics to introduce IoT rice cookers, air purifiers, and water purifiers. Cuckoo Electronics holds a 75% market share in the domestic rice cooker market. LG Uplus and Cuckoo Electronics will launch IoT rice cookers and IoT air purifiers starting from the 26th, with the IoT water purifier scheduled for launch in July. LG전자가 IVI(In Vehicle Infotainment, 오디오?비디오?네비게이션 등 차량 내장용 인포테인먼트 기기) 분야 SW플랫폼 표준단체 ‘제니비 연합(GENIVI Alliance)’의 부회장사 지위에 올랐다. ‘제니비 연합’은 최근 영국 버밍햄 국제종합전시장(ICC)에서 열린 이사회에서 만장일치로 LG전자 VC스마트SW플랫폼담당 류경동상무를 부회장으로 선출했다. 동시에 초대 회장사인 BMW 인포테인먼트설계담당 피터 쉔넨버그(Peter Schonenberg)가 회장으로 복귀했다. ‘제니비 연합’의 집행임원은 회장, 부회장, 회계담당, 총무 단 4명[2]이다. ‘제니비 연합’은 오픈소스인 ‘리눅스(Linux)’ 기반 IVI용 SW플랫폼 표준인 ‘제니비 플랫폼’을 개발, IVI 생태계 활성화를 주도하고 있는비영리 단체다. 2009년 출범해 완성차 및 자동차 부품 기업 150여 개가 회원사로 활동 중이다. ‘제니비 플랫폼’은 BMW, 르노-닛산, 볼보, PSA푸조시트로엥, 현대기아자동차 등 여러 자동차업체의 IVI 제품에 적용되며 빠르게 확산되고 있다.
