LG Uplus Launches 'Genie Music' Sign-up Event
Published2017.05.24 18:42LG Uplus announced that it is holding a social media event offering various prizes to users who use 'Genie Music' or subscribe to the 'Genie Music Unlimited Listening' plan.
LG Uplus customers using Genie Music can enjoy ultra-high-quality music at the level of the original sound on both mobile and PC without the burden of data charges, and can conveniently obtain music information such as personalized playlists based on analysis of personal preferences and ambient sound search. The 'Genie Music Unlimited Listening' product is available for mobile only at a monthly fee of 7,700 won (VAT included), and for simultaneous use on mobile and PC at a monthly fee of 9,600 won (VAT included).
LG Uplus will give Starbucks drink vouchers through a lottery to customers who capture a music playback screen on Genie Music that expresses their personal mood and upload it to their personal Instagram with the hashtags (#UplusGenieMusic #Membership 2 months free) and tag @uplusgenie.
In addition, if you sign up for the 'Genie Music Unlimited Listening' product during the event period, you will be entered into a raffle to win a Marshall speaker or Bang & Olufsen earphones.

LG Electronics debuts LG Pay at World IT Show 2017.
LG Electronics unveiled 'LG Pay', which is scheduled to launch in June, for the first time at 'World IT Show 2017', a four-day event running from the 24th at COEX in Samseong-dong. LG Electronics established a dedicated experience zone equipped with 'LG G6' and a card payment terminal so that visitors can conveniently experience 'LG Pay'. LG Pay is equipped with 'WMC (Wireless Magnetic Communication)', a magnetic technology that can be used identically to a standard credit card for offline payments. The payment method works by generating a magnetic signal from a mobile device and making a payment when brought near a credit card payment terminal.

LG Electronics Showcases All Products Including TVs, G6, and Notebooks in One Place at 'World IT Show 2017'
LG Electronics participated in the World IT Show 2017, the nation's largest IT exhibition held at COEX in Samseong-dong starting on the 24th, showcasing a wide range of strategic products. The company displayed the LG Signature OLED TV W, Super Ultra HD TV with nanocell technology applied, and strategic smartphone LG G6. The LG Signature OLED TV W received the Presidential Award at the 24th Korea Multimedia Technology Awards ceremony held at the venue on the morning of the 24th. LG Electronics HE Business Division Head Vice President Kwon Bong-seok attended the awards ceremony. This product is a TV with a wallpaper design that becomes one with the wall. At installation, the thickness is 4mm (based on 65-inch model). It implements minimalist design by excluding elements other than the display. To complete the wallpaper design, LG Electronics separated all components and speakers except the screen into a separate 'Innovation Stage'. The Innovation Stage features a 4.2-channel speaker system including 4 general speakers and 2 subwoofers. This product supports Dolby ATMOS, an advanced spatial audio system from U.S. company Dolby. Dolby ATMOS creates vivid spatial audio where sound appears to come from in front, behind, or above the user depending on the movement or position of objects on screen. For example, when an airplane flies over the protagonist's head, the sound is heard from above the viewer's head, providing a more three-dimensional and realistic sense of space.

유럽특허청(EPO)의 ‘기술 대시보드 2025’에 따르면 지난해 유럽 특허 출원은 20만1974건으로 처음 20만건을 넘었다. 한국 기업과 발명가의 출원은 1만4355건으로 전년보다 9.5% 증가해 국가별 5위를 유지했다. 배터리와 디지털 통신, 반도체가 증가세를 이끌었고, 삼성은 2년 연속 EPO 최대 출원 기업, LG는 3위에 올랐다. 서울·수원·용인 등 국내 주요 도시의 존재감도 확인됐다. 한국의 유럽 특허 전략이 개별 기술을 넘어 산업 전반으로 확장되고 있다는 점도 드러났다.

SK Telecom First Applies AI-Based Network Operations at Gwanghwamun K-Pop Concert
SK텔레콤이 3월 21일 서울 광화문 일대에서 열린 대형 K-팝 공연에 AI 기반 네트워크 운영 시스템을 처음 적용해 통신 품질을 관리했다고 밝혔다. 공연 전후 3시간 동안 모바일 데이터 사용량은 12.15TB로 직전 주말 같은 시간대보다 약 2배 늘었다. SK텔레콤은 AI 시스템 ‘A-One’을 활용해 5분 단위, 50m 단위로 트래픽을 감시하며 과부하 가능성에 대응했고, 임시 통신 시설과 현장 인력 운영도 병행했다. 밀집 행사와 외국인 이용 수요가 동시에 늘어나는 환경에서 AI 기반 자율 네트워크 운영의 현장 적용 가능성을 확인한 사례로 해석된다.
