Cornus captures electricity counted by broadcasters with IoT
Published2017.05.30 15:14The newly developed system is a convergent form combining the smart wireless power-saving system 'InnoSaver' and the 'Indicating System' with smart restroom occupancy detection functionality. It is expected to contribute to enhancing the safety and convenience of broadcasters through 'energy conservation, privacy protection, and fire prevention and pest control situation management.'
Broadcasters consume significant energy due to the nature of their operations. A typical example is the difficulty in confirming occupancy due to concerns about exposing the privacy of on-air talent. Cornus designed a dedicated IoT system for broadcasters that can check occupancy without opening doors and control power devices such as air conditioners and heaters. Currently, pilot services are being conducted at 6 CJ E&M makeup rooms, performing lighting control, air conditioning control, occupancy confirmation, and makeup table lighting control.
Park Chang-sik, CEO of Cornus, stated, "Wireless sensor-based IoT technology enables customized application development. We are reviewing monitoring functions to expand sensor application from an environmental perspective, such as fine dust, which has recently become an issue."
