As concerns about family health grow amid increasingly severe fine dust pollution, a service has emerged that automatically manages indoor air quality by utilizing the latest big data analysis technology.
SK Telecom announced the launch of a smart home air care service that collects and analyzes various air data from air-related devices linked to its smart home platform, provides customized indoor air management guidance, and automatically operates linked devices. Air-related devices include air conditioners, air purifiers, air washers, and air quality measurement devices.
Additionally, through SK TechX's WeatherPhome, weather conditions such as temperature and fine dust near the home collected are analyzed together with indoor air information, and then health management guidance from specialists at Seoul Samsung Hospital is provided. Customers can obtain over 1,000 various tips comprehensively considering seasons, indoor and outdoor conditions, and children's health status.
Additionally, for households with young children sensitive to air conditions, if information about the young children is entered into the smart home air care app, customers can receive air management tips according to diseases such as atopic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, and asthma.
SK Telecom plans to continuously analyze and learn air data by generation using big data technology to identify air condition patterns and provide customers with a monthly air quality analysis report.

SK Telecom has also partnered with SK Construction, a leading domestic construction company, and decided to provide apartments supplied by SK Construction as air-specialized apartments.
The two companies initially decided to link the ventilation system of Boramae SK View, which recently completed sales, with the smart home air care service. For Kongdeok SK View, scheduled for sale in July, they plan to install air quality sensors that comprehensively analyze fine dust, carbon dioxide, and harmful gases in all units as standard equipment.
Cho Young-hoon, head of SK Telecom's Home Business Division, stated, "Through the launch of this smart home air care service and partnership with SK Construction, customers can now effectively address air quality issues in their daily lives. As part of our continued efforts to enhance customer convenience through smart home services, we will continue to strengthen healthcare functions that protect customer health."

SKT to Integrate ICT Technology into Rental Housing
SK Telecom announced that it has signed a joint implementation agreement (MoU) with HN Housing Lease Management, a comprehensive real estate management company, and HN Sub, a lease management operator, to establish advanced ICT-based convenience facilities and services in private-sector rental housing (KEB Hana Stay). The rental housing where advanced ICT services will be built includes KEB Hana Stay rental units under construction in Dae-gu Pojeong and Daemyeong-dong, and in Busan Gwang-an and Yangjeong-dong, with initial completion planned for early 2018, reaching a scale of approximately 10,000 units (based on groundbreaking) by 2020. The three parties plan to apply various ICT-based services and facilities to Hana Stay, including IoT-based smart home, building energy management system (BEMS), healthcare, integrated security systems, car sharing, and O2O (Online to Offline) services.

KT Introduces IoT to Improve Air Quality in Middle and High Schools
KT announced on the 4th that it will be the first to apply a school-exclusive 'Smart Air Quality Management Solution' that enables indoor and outdoor air quality measurement using IoT technology in collaboration with K-Weather, a weather and air service specialist company, at Korea Foreign Language Science High School in Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province. KT and K-Weather will install air quality measurement devices in 21 classrooms and the school playground of Korea Foreign Language Science High School and provide air quality information 24 hours, 365 days, including fine dust, ultrafine dust, temperature, humidity, living gas (VOCs), carbon dioxide (CO2), and noise. Korea Foreign Language Science High School will check the air quality status provided through the 'Smart Air Quality Management Solution' and, when fine dust measurement readings show poor conditions, follow procedures in accordance with the 'High-concentration Fine Dust Response Practical Manual' distributed by the Provincial Office of Education, including suspending outdoor activities and classroom ventilation and operating air purifiers.
