Joins 'LoRa Alliance' to Standardize Low-Power Wide-Area Network

Telit announced the launch of 'RE866A1-EU', an IoT module integrating LoRaWAN™ protocol and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

The RE866A1-EU module fully complies with the latest LoRaWAN standard and is an ideal solution for public or private networks, smart metering, remote sensing, industrial automation/monitoring and control, wireless alert and security systems, agriculture, asset tracking, street lighting, and smart city applications.

Ronen Ben-Hamou, Executive Vice President of Telit's Product and Solution Division, stated, "Strengthening and maintaining a low-power module portfolio that reflects market trends and related technologies aligns with Telit's brand philosophy of delivering end-to-end IoT solutions. Customers can reuse existing devices and applications designed for cellular by simply integrating Telit's LoRaWAN protocol modules without device replacement. Additionally, Telit has joined the 'LoRa Alliance™', an open, non-profit consortium. The mission of this consortium, initiated by industry leaders, is to standardize low-power wide-area networks (LPWAN) being deployed globally and enable IoT, M2M, smart city, and industrial applications.
