LG Electronics to Release G6+ and Software Upgrade Next Month

While retaining existing features such as the 5.7-inch large-screen FullVision display, durability, and LG Pay, the company has diversified internal memory capacity, convenience features, and color options. New products will be launched in early next month, including the 'LG G6+' and LG G6 with 32GB internal memory in two variants.
The 'LG G6+' features 128GB internal memory, doubling the existing 64GB capacity, and is equipped with Qi-standard wireless charging functionality. LG Electronics will also provide B&O Play bundled earphones to enable users to fully enjoy the premium sound delivered by the Hi-Fi Quad DAC. Color options include 'Optical Astro Black', 'Optical Terra Gold', and 'Optical Marine Blue' in three variants.
LG Electronics plans to sequentially introduce the 'LG G6+' to global markets starting from Korea.
The 32GB internal memory G6 will be offered in three color options: the standard Mystic White along with additional Terra Gold and Marine Blue variants.
Software Update for All LG G6 Series
LG Electronics plans to update software for all LG G6 series devices coinciding with the launch of the 'LG G6+' and 'LG G6' with 32GB internal memory. A key feature is 'facial recognition' that recognizes the user's face. With motion detection added, the lock screen is unlocked simply by directing the face toward the phone even when the display is off.
A low-power algorithm that reduces standby power consumption when the user is not actively using the smartphone will also be applied. For example, when using a fitness application, calculations for calorie expenditure or activity levels operate at lower power than normal, thereby reducing battery consumption.
LG Electronics stated that this algorithm was developed based on Qualcomm's 'All-Ways Aware' technology, which identifies user location and movement to enhance user experience.
Additionally, the company will improve various software features including automatic call recording that, once configured, automatically records calls with specific contacts, and fine volume adjustment functionality for precise volume control when using the Hi-Fi Quad DAC.

LG Electronics unveiled 'LG Pay', which is scheduled to launch in June, for the first time at 'World IT Show 2017', a four-day event running from the 24th at COEX in Samseong-dong.
