SKT Obtains Information Security Management System Certification for Intelligent CCTV

SK Telecom announced that its intelligent video service 'T view' has obtained Information Security Management System (ISMS) certification as the first domestic intelligent CCTV service to do so.
'ISMS' is Korea's premier comprehensive information security certification system, managed by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, with certification operations run by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), and certification bodies including the Korea Information and Communications Industry Association (KAIT) and Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) participating as evaluation agencies.
SK Telecom's 'T view' is an intelligent video service that provides video monitoring functions such as real-time intrusion detection and people counting within designated areas, as well as automatic video enhancement during adverse weather or darkness, camera tampering detection, and cloud storage after video encryption.
In particular, video data is encrypted across all segments from cameras to servers to customer terminals, and to prevent video acquisition issues in case of server failure, the service operates multiple video storage servers, equipped with various functions to protect customer information.
The 'T view' service is currently sold in three forms: 'T view Enterprise' for large-scale enterprise video security and analysis services, 'T view Sense' combining home cameras and sensors, and 'T view Partner' sold as a solution to telecommunications and security companies.
In particular, unlike most other CCTV services that require separate video storage equipment such as PCs or DVRs, 'T view' employs cloud server storage, enabling safe storage and archiving of encrypted video, making it popular in the telecommunications and security industries. Currently available services based on 'T view' include SK Broadband's 'CLOUD CAM', S-One's 'Cloud CCTV', and NSOK's 'N Cloud'.
Choi Nak-hun, Head of IoT Strategy at SK Telecom, stated, "This 'ISMS' certification is meaningful in that it recognizes SK Telecom's efforts to protect customer personal information in intelligent video services," and added, "We will continue to make greater efforts to protect valuable customer information and earn customer trust."

SKT, Apartment Competitiveness Determined by Air Quality
As concerns about family health grow amid increasingly severe fine dust pollution, a service has emerged that automatically manages indoor air quality by utilizing the latest big data analysis technology. SK Telecom announced the launch of a smart home air care service that collects and analyzes various air data from air-related devices linked to its smart home platform, provides customized indoor air management guidance, and automatically operates linked devices. Air-related devices include air conditioners, air purifiers, air washers, and air quality measurement devices. Additionally, through SK TechX's WeatherPhome, weather conditions such as temperature and fine dust near the home collected are analyzed together with indoor air information, and then health management guidance from specialists at Seoul Samsung Hospital is provided. Customers can obtain over 1,000 various tips comprehensively considering seasons, indoor and outdoor conditions, and children's health status.

SKT Successfully Transmits and Receives Quantum Cryptographic Keys on Experimental Network 112km Round Trip Between Bundang and Suwon
SK Telecom has developed a dedicated quantum key distribution repeater and announced that it successfully transmitted quantum cryptographic keys over a 112 km round-trip experimental network spanning from Bundang to Yongin and Suwon. By connecting multiple units of the newly developed quantum key distribution dedicated repeater, quantum cryptographic communication can be transmitted over hundreds to thousands of kilometers. Since quantum key distribution uses extremely weak signals at the single quantum level, quantum cryptographic key transmission was only possible up to approximately 80 km prior to the development of the dedicated repeater. Despite its excellent security performance, the 'distance limitation' has been a major obstacle to the commercialization of quantum key distribution. To overcome this, SK Telecom developed a dedicated quantum key distribution repeater (Trusted Repeater) and enabled transmission of quantum cryptographic keys beyond 80 km. For example, considering that the distance from Seoul to Busan is approximately 460 km, if five dedicated repeaters are installed, quantum cryptographic keys transmitted from Seoul can be received in Busan. SK Telecom plans to apply the dedicated repeater to its commercial network in part by the end of this year and gradually expand the coverage of quantum key distribution services.
