Evaluation in the interoperability test hosted by OMA
Recognized for ensuring end-to-end interoperability

MDS Technology announced that its self-developed IoT device management platform, 'NeoIDM,' received the highest evaluation result at the interoperability test (TestFest) hosted by the Open Mobile Appliance Association (OMA).

OMA is an international standardization organization for wireless internet solutions and services. It proposes standard protocols such as LwM2M to ensure network interoperability between IoT devices and hosts an annual TestFest to publish interoperability test results for clients and servers based on the LwM2M standard protocol.

MDS Technology received the highest evaluation in 42 interoperability test items, in which a total of 12 companies, including ARM, AVSystem, GEMALTO, and Huawei, participated. As a result, NeoIDM has been recognized as the first IoT device management platform in Korea to secure End-to-End interoperability from client to server.

NeoIDM is a device management platform that is easy to apply to heterogeneous, low-spec sensors and gateways. Designed based on LwM2M, the standard specification for IoT device management, it is particularly optimized for IoT environments with significant constraints on computing power and battery life. It can be utilized in various businesses such as smart homes, public services, finance, smart cars, security, healthcare, industrial automation, and environmental monitoring.

Man-sik Jeong, Senior Vice President of MDS Technology, stated, “Interoperability with international standard protocols is crucial for a platform that efficiently manages IoT devices, so it must be extensively verified.” He added, “In the future, we plan to expand NeoIDM’s supported protocols and develop it into an OMA DM-based platform.”
