LG Uplus plans to showcase IoT for nursing facilities, including bowel management, sleep patterns, and vital signs.

LG Uplus partners with KB Golden Life Care, a company specializing in nursing services, to provide IoT services to premium nursing facilities for the first time in Korea.
LG Uplus signed a business agreement with KB Golden Life Care on the 20th (Tue) to "establish an IoT-based smart care home," and agreed to apply LG Uplus's IoT technology to the care home business pursued by KB Golden Life Care in the future and to explore areas for business partnership.
KB Golden Life Care is a subsidiary of KB Insurance, an affiliate of KB Financial Group, and opened a care center in Gangdong-gu, Seoul at the end of last year. Nurses and caregivers are stationed at this center to look after the elderly.
KB Golden Life Care plans to provide a differentiated 'high-quality smart care' service that advances the level of domestic nursing services to the next level by applying LG Uplus's IoT platform and various solutions to a premium elderly nursing facility opening in Wirye New Town, Songpa-gu, Seoul next year.
LG Uplus plans to build an IoT platform capable of integrated monitoring and control of IoT products at KB Golden Life Care nursing facilities, while also developing and providing, for the first time in Korea, IoT services specialized for nursing homes, such as ▲ bed fall prevention based on motion detection sensors ▲ sleep pattern verification through sleep sensors ▲ automatic measurement of vital signs (body temperature/respiration/pulse).
IoT technology utilizes various collected data, such as vital signs, sleep, and exercise levels, to monitor the daily lives of residents in nursing facilities and manage service records regarding meals, cleanliness, and more.
KB Golden Life Care explained that it plans to minimize care gaps caused by carelessness by establishing care goals and plans based on customer data and providing real-time notifications to guardians and nurses regarding key care schedules and various health information.
Ahn Seong-jun, Executive Vice President and Head of the IoT Division at LG Uplus, stated, “Our differentiated IoT technology is expanding not only to residential spaces such as apartments and officetels but also to nursing facilities,” adding, “We expect that providing customized IoT solutions will significantly enhance the safety of nursing facility users as well as the convenience of staff, including nurses and caregivers.”
