Visit to Yeonpyeong Island to mark Patriots and Veterans Month
Operation of an experiential center to bridge the youth information gap

SK Telecom's mobile ICT experience center, 'T.um mobile', will visit Yeonpyeong Island, located at the front line of the West Sea, to celebrate Patriots and Veterans Month.

SK Telecom announced that it will operate 'Tium Mobile' at Yeonpyeong Elementary, Middle, and High School on Yeonpyeong Island, Incheon for three days starting on the 28th to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the Second Battle of Yeonpyeong on June 29th.

SK Telecom will showcase coding, the Internet of Things (IoT), augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and holograms to approximately 2,000 residents and soldiers of Yeonpyeong Island, including 133 students from Yeonpyeong Elementary, Middle, and High School.

During this visit, a special technology demonstration will be held, taking into account the geographical uniqueness of the island region, allowing youth to overcome spatial constraints through ICT technology. SK Telecom plans to connect Yeonpyeong Elementary, Middle, and High School with a museum in a major city through a 360-degree live VR service, providing youth with the opportunity to experience museum exhibits through video.

SK Telecom stated, “Through our visit to Yeonpyeong Island, located on the western border of our country, we will reflect on the meaning of patriotism and veterans’ welfare, and continue Tium Mobile’s sincere efforts to eliminate the information gap among youth.”
