SK Telecom announced that it will host the 'Korea Happiness Insight' program, where young people share their thoughts on solving various problems in our society.

SK Telecom planned this program to solicit ideas from young people for building a better Korea. In particular, inheriting the talent development philosophy of SK’s ‘Scholarship Quiz,’ which has continued for 45 years, the company has prepared a stage for young people to showcase their insights.

'Korea Happiness Insights' is structured as a platform for communication where the public can participate by having participants share their insights with the public through TED-style lectures and by conducting online voting on them.

Any currently enrolled or on leave of absence student at a domestic university or graduate school can participate, and international students are also eligible. Under the theme "For Korea to Become One Little Happier," participants will compete by sharing their own "insights" to solve current social issues such as youth unemployment, social polarization, low birth rates, and an aging population.

The competition will proceed in three stages: preliminary, main, and final rounds. Applications for the preliminary round will be accepted from July 3 to 21. Those wishing to participate should submit a one-page summary of their insights and a presentation video filmed with a smartphone or similar device via email (sktinsight@sk.com). Afterwards, a total of about 30 finalists are selected through evaluation by the judges.

The finals are scheduled to take place over two days in early August at Korea University. Approximately 30 finalists will participate in an offline camp to further develop their insights through one-on-one mentoring with prominent figures, including Daumsoft Vice President Song Gil-young. Videos of the finalists' presentations will be uploaded to 'SK Telecom Insight (www.sktinsight.com).' Judging for the finals will be conducted via online voting on the blog, and the top 10 participants will advance to the final round.

The finals will be held at the SUPEX Hall of SK Telecom's headquarters in Euljiro, Seoul, in late August. SK Telecom will combine the real-time votes from its members with the online voting scores from the preliminary round to announce the final winner and the top 10 rankings, and present awards.

SK Telecom’s Head of New Media, Lee Jun-ho, stated, “‘Korea Happiness Insight’ is a program launched with the aim of evolving and developing ‘SK Scholarship Quiz,’ which has a 45-year history, into a communication platform,” adding, “I hope this program becomes a venue for communication to contemplate the milestones that companies and society should pursue.”
