LG Electronics received nine awards at the '2017 Korea Green Product of the Year' announced by the Korea Green Purchasing Network. This marks the eighth consecutive year from 2010 to this year.

LG Electronics has proven its high-efficiency and eco-friendly technological capabilities by receiving awards across major home appliance sectors, including refrigerators, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, ovens, and water purifiers. The award-winning products include three refrigerator models, such as the LG SIGNATURE refrigerator; the CordZero A9 cordless vacuum cleaner; the Tromm drum washing machine; the Tromm Styler; the Dios lightwave oven; the Dios lightwave gas range; and the PuriCare Slim water purifier.

LG Electronics is solidifying the premium image of its home appliances by applying inverter technology, which excels in high efficiency, high performance, and low noise, to key components such as motors and compressors. While fixed-speed systems operate compressors and motors at a constant speed, inverter systems can freely adjust their operating speeds, thereby increasing energy efficiency and product performance while reducing noise.

For example, LG Electronics’ recently released cordless vacuum cleaner, the ‘CodeZero A9,’ features the ‘Smart Inverter Motor P9,’ which rotates up to 115,000 times per minute. This product boasts a suction power of 140 watts (W), which is the world’s highest level among top-centered cordless vacuums with the motor located in the handle, and can clean continuously for up to 80 minutes using two detachable batteries.

The 'Green Product of the Year' is an event organized by the Korea Green Purchasing Network since 2008 to promote consumers' purchase of eco-friendly products. About 390 people, including 22 consumer and environmental groups and general consumers nationwide, will directly participate in the selection of the 'Green Product of the Year'.
