HVAC Systems and Air Purifiers for Air Quality Measurement

Honeywell's Sensing&IoT business division has announced the launch of a new dust sensor product line, the 'HPM Series.'

Honeywell's HPM Series dust sensors are designed for installation in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and air purifiers for measuring air quality in homes, buildings, and public spaces.

Based on decades of accumulated technological expertise in sensing technology and connected solutions, Honeywell has developed dust sensors using state-of-the-art sensor technology. Through Honeywell's affordably priced dust sensors, residents living in indoor spaces can prevent respiratory diseases caused by contaminated indoor air."

Honeywell dust sensors are applied to various consumer products such as air purifiers, automotive air systems, and portable air quality meters. By applying laser sensors, they accurately detect ultrafine particulates of 2.5 micrometers or less in particle size. For reference, the thickness of an average human hair is approximately 70 micrometers, about 30 times larger than this.

Dust sensors using laser light scattering technology accurately detect and measure fine particulates in a concentration range of 0μg/m³ to 1,000μg/m³ in a given environment. The sensors then analyze the particulate size and concentration in real time and send alarms and corrective measures to the operator through the system.

Honeywell's HPM Series dust sensors, which comply with industrial EMC standards, operate accurately even in harsh and challenging work environments. With an industry-leading product lifespan of 20,000 continuous operating hours, users can benefit from product reliability and cost savings.

Additionally, through collaboration with Honeywell's HBT (Home and Building Technologies) business division, which provides HVAC and building management solutions, the use of dust sensors can improve the operation and energy efficiency of more than 10 million buildings worldwide.
