Rohm Launches USB PD Power Supply Evaluation Board

Rohm announced the launch of the BM92AxxMWV-EVK-001 series (6 types) power supply evaluation boards that realize USB Power Delivery (USB PD) through USB Type-C connectors.
USB PD enables power delivery of up to 100W (20V / 5A) between USB Type-C compatible devices, whereas previously only up to 15W was possible. Accordingly, devices requiring high power such as notebooks and TVs can now be powered through USB connectors. With USB outlets becoming increasingly common in homes and hotels, USB PD is expected to bring transformative changes to infrastructure as well.
The newly launched BM92AxxMWV-EVK-001 incorporates a USB PD controller IC developed by Rohm. The six types of evaluation boards enable flexible combinations of power supply and receiving side boards according to various applications, making it easy to evaluate power delivery using USB PD. Supporting USB Type-C specification Rev1.1 and USB PD specification Rev2.0, connection with devices equipped with Type-C connectors is also possible.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
