LG Electronics Provides Small-Scale Solar Power Generation Equipment to Vulnerable Groups

LG Electronics is moving forward with welfare provisions utilizing solar power generation technology for energy-vulnerable households.
On the 7th, LG Electronics signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for "energy vulnerable group social contribution activities" with Daejeon City, LH Corporation, and the Daejeon Environmental Movement Association at Daejeon City Hall in the afternoon. LG Electronics Energy Business Center President Lee Sang-bong, Daejeon City Mayor Kwon Sun-taek, LH Corporation President Park Sang-woo, and Daejeon Environmental Movement Association Chairman Heo Jae-young attended, and all parties agreed to actively cooperate in expanding renewable energy supply and energy welfare for energy-vulnerable groups.
The participating organizations, including LG Electronics, plan to provide small-scale solar power generation equipment and post-installation management services starting in September to approximately 130 energy-vulnerable households in Daejeon City.
LG Electronics will provide free high-efficiency solar modules called 'MonoXplus' and LG Micro Inverter, a mini solar inverter product. When this equipment is installed on a balcony or similar location, households using approximately 30,000 won per month in electricity bills can reduce costs by over 4,000 won.
MonoXplus achieved a lightweight 15.2kg through module optimization technology, and is a 250W-class product with improved efficiency by applying monocrystalline wafer-based cell technology.
The 'LG Micro Inverter' has the highest domestic efficiency at 95.2%, minimizing power loss. The 'LG Micro Inverter' converts direct current (DC) generated from solar modules into alternating current (AC) usable in households. This product can be directly connected to a 220V outlet in the home, making installation and use convenient.
LG Electronics Energy Business Center President Lee Sang-bong emphasized, "We will not spare continuous support, not just one-time assistance, for neighbors in urgent need of help."

LG Uplus, "Will Increase Seoul's Power Self-Sufficiency Rate to 20% by 2020"
LG Uplus announced on the 31st (Wednesday) that it has signed a business agreement with A-NINE, a solar power generation measurement device developer for Seoul Citizens Sunlight Power Generation Cooperative, a mini solar project operator in Seoul, to develop mini solar power generation measurement technology utilizing NB-IoT (Narrowband Internet of Things). As the Seoul Citizens Sunlight Power Generation Cooperative has introduced for the first time a remote monitoring system utilizing NB-IoT in Seoul's balcony-type mini solar installation project, which has been independently developed and promoted by Seoul since 2014, the outlook is that NB-IoT technology will gain further momentum in its expansion. In accordance with this agreement, LG Uplus will equip household solar power generation measurement devices developed by A-NINE with NB-IoT communication modules and transmit solar power generation data collected from the devices remotely to the monitoring center established by the Seoul Citizens Sunlight Power Generation Cooperative through its dedicated NB-IoT network.

SKT Checks Real-Time Solar Power Generation via LoRa Network

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
