MicroStrategy announces platform for real-time big data analytics
Published2017.07.10 16:16MicroStrategy Incorporated has officially announced the general availability (GA) version of MicroStrategy 10.8, the latest feature release of the MicroStrategy 10™ platform.
MicroStrategy 10.8 provides critical capabilities in enterprise analytics, enterprise mobility, embedded analytics, enterprise cloud, and enterprise IoT, and adds new features to MicroStrategy Desktop™, MicroStrategy Web™, MicroStrategy Mobile, and Usher™.
The latest MicroStrategy 10.8 comes bundled with R and R Integration Pack and is installed together with MicroStrategy Server™, making it easier to leverage machine learning capabilities, artificial intelligence integration, and predictive analytics features.
Additionally, it provides a new gallery for customized data connectors, enhanced color palettes for data visualization, improved parity between Android™ and iOS® mobile apps, and dashboards ready for immediate deployment with Usher Professional™.

SAS Korea (CEO Cho Sung-shik) announced that it will expand support for big data analysis e-learning courses to foster domestic data scientists. LG Uplus is hosting the "15th SAS Analytics Championship" competition open to university students and graduate students nationwide as part of its initiative to recruit specialized talent in the big data industry. KT Consortium to Prevent Infectious Diseases with Big Data
The KT consortium announced that it has been selected as the final operator for the '2017 Big Data Flagship Project' overseen by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning and the National Information Society Agency. KT, together with the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and BC Card, proposed the 'Establishment of a System to Prevent the Spread of Human and Animal Infectious Diseases Using Big Data' to prevent the expansion of damage caused by human and animal infectious diseases. The consortium was selected as the operator in recognition of the excellence of big data utilization technology. For animal infectious diseases, KT will conduct a pilot project in cooperation with the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency to electronically record and digitize visit histories of people visiting farms using IoT (Internet of Things) and other technologies.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
