LG Electronics software developers gathered in one place to share the latest technologies and development expertise.
LG Electronics held the '2017 LG Software Developers' Day (SEED: Software Engineers' Energizing Day)' event on the 19th at the Seocho R&D Campus located in Yangjaedong, Seoul. Approximately 500 software developers from the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) division and various business units participated in the event.
The participants shared not only the latest technology trends such as artificial intelligence and big data, but also effective methods for collaboration during the development phase and ways to leverage the collective intelligence of multiple developers. To foster creativity and passion, which are important for software developers, the event also included sessions where developers shared diverse experiences on free-form topics such as cooking and health management.
Park Il-pyeong, Senior Vice President of the Software Center at LG Electronics' CTO division, stated, "This event is a festival for software developers where they can freely share knowledge and engage in discussions," and emphasized that "active and open exchanges among developers will lead to enhanced software competitiveness."
Meanwhile, LG Electronics operates an in-house software expert certification system including △'Software Architects' who design software from a macroscopic perspective △'Coding Experts' with exceptional coding skills △'SDET Experts' who are responsible for testing and quality assurance during the development phase.

Human-centered cognitive software will create more jobs
The 23rd Software Quality Insight was held on the 12th at the International Conference Room of Nuri Dream Square in Sangam-dong, focusing on technology innovation and job creation in drone and autonomous vehicle fields through software engineering. Hosted by the Ministry of Future Creation and Science and organized by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), the event attracted approximately 700 participants and demonstrated keen interest in drones and autonomous vehicles. SalePoint Signs Multi-Year Partnership Agreement with AWS… Promoting Identity Security that Integrates Even AI Agents
Sailpoint has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership agreement with AWS and is moving forward with establishing an integrated governance system that manages both human and non-human identities together. Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
