Moxa Launches 18-Slot Chassis Media Converter Suited for High-Density Applications

Moxa announced the launch of a new rackmount chassis media converter for high-density applications such as passenger information systems and advanced transportation management systems. The TRC-2190 series features a modular design that provides 18 slots for Ethernet-to-fiber management modules, and can also be used as a standalone device in the field.
The TRC-2190 features a fanless design, making it a more stable and reliable product. The greatest advantage of the fanless design is reduced maintenance costs and effort compared to designs that require continuous repair of cooling fans for heat dissipation.
Moxa's managed media converters support SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol), enabling remote management of network links and power status, and can send alarm notifications to network administrators regarding unexpected situations such as power outages and link failures.
The TRC-2190's innovative remote management capabilities enable easy troubleshooting and reduce operational burden and downtime. In addition, it supports wavelength division multiplexing (WDM), allowing users who are in the planning phase of their network infrastructure to reduce fiber optic cable costs.

Moxa has launched the SDS-3008 smart switch, a new product line within its industrial Ethernet switch portfolio. Moxa Launches Device Server Combining Wireless Standards and Digital I/O
Moxa has launched the NPort IAW5000A-6I/O series, a 3-in-1 serial device server that provides high flexibility by combining IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n wireless standard technology with six digital I/O when integrating serial equipment through wireless Ethernet networks in the field. The DI/DO included in the NPort IAW5000A-6I/O series is controlled via TCP/IP using the Modbus TCP protocol and can be configured and secured from a web browser. Additionally, it can be installed as a COM port on Windows/Linux PCs compatible with legacy applications (using Moxa's patented Real COM technology). All models are robustly constructed, support DIN rail mounting, and are designed with power redundancy to ensure uninterrupted operation in industrial applications. Unauthorized access is one of the most troublesome issues for system administrators. In addition to IP filtering and password protection, the NPort IAW5000A-6I/O series supports SSH and HTTPS to protect safely against hackers. Furthermore, devices installed in industrial automation environments face high surge risks from electromagnetic pulses generated during switching on/off operations of various motors. The NPort IAW5000A-6I/O series provides 4kV surge protection on serial lines, protecting electrical devices from voltage spikes and suppressing electrical noise.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems.
