3S Solutions Successfully Demonstrates Drone for Weather Observation at Drone Policy Forum
Published2017.08.25 11:16On the 24th, 3S Solution demonstrated the weather observation drone, ATO-I, at the '2017 Republic of Korea Drone Policy Forum' co-hosted by the Chairman of the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The ATO-I, an industrial drone developed for weather observation, is the only aircraft developed in Korea to observe weather changes at an altitude of 2.5km or more. In this demonstration, the demonstration was conducted within the spectator’s field of vision, so it was limited to an altitude of 300m.
Even on the day of the event, when there was thick fog and strong winds, ATO-I was optimized for weather variables and maintained a stable altitude while transmitting accurate real-time data from the onboard complex weather sensor (temperature, humidity, pressure, wind direction, wind speed, fine dust concentration, etc.).
“Our goal is to provide our citizens with faster and more accurate weather forecasts by converting real-time big data on fine dust concentrations as well as weather observations into server-based information,” said Tae-sang Eom, CEO of 3S Solution, while announcing their future core competencies at the 2017 Republic of Korea Drone Policy Forum. “We will spare no effort to ensure that all citizens can live affluent lives through stable aircraft for weather observation and accurate statistical information.”

드론 기술이 발달하면서 가장 광범위하게 활용되고 있는 분야는 농업이다. 국제무인비행시스템협회(AUVSI)에 따르면 미래 상업용 드론 시장의 80%는 농업용 드론이 차지할 것이라는 예측도 나왔다. 드론에 카메라를 달아 실시간으로 생육정보를 취득할 수도 있고, 토양 상태를 분석하기 위한 조사도 하며, 지표면을 스캔하여 고도를 조정해 정확한 양의 농약을 살포하는 것도 가능하다. 순돌이드론도 농약이나 비료를 살포하는 사용하는 농업용 드론이다. 완전 자동시스템으로 자동비행은 물론, 방향전환, 살포, 복귀까지 자동으로 한다. 약제를 살포하다 중간에 약제가 떨어져 중단된 경우, 자동으로 감지해 귀환한다. 약제를 복충하고 나면 중단된 지점으로 조정하지 않아도 감지시스템으로 위치로 복귀해 중복살포를 방지한다.

3S Solutions Launches Domestically Produced Drone with a Focus on Safety
기상관측 산업용 드론(ATO-I) 개발사인 쓰리에스솔루션은 국내에서 직접 R&D 기술을 바탕으로 제조부터 생산까지 전무후무한 아토티(ATO-T)를 본격적으로 출시한다고 밝혔다. 지난 13년간 다양한 IT 상품을 기획하고 유통해 온 쓰리에스솔루션은, 2008년 R&D 부설연구소를 설립하고 이듬해 HMD(Head Mounted Display) 개발을 시작으로 완성도 높은 드론을 개발해 왔다. 토이드론 '아토티'는 8세 이상이라면 누구나 쉽고 안전하게 조작이 가능한 완구용 드론이다. 리모트 컨트롤러 없이 스마트폰 어플로 제어가 가능하기에 한편으론 미세한 조종이 어렵지 않을까 하는 의구심을 가질 수 있지만, 고속비행과 섬세함을 위한 컨트롤보다 안정성과 쉬운 조작으로 손쉽게 즐길 수 있도록 완구에 초점을 맞춘 드론임을 강조하고 있다.

Drones are entering a phase of regulatory reform, but their widespread adoption will require special legislation.
“드론은 4차 산업혁명의 핵심과제이자 화두이다. 드론 산업은 확장력이 강하고 유망하며 국민이 체감하는 산업이다” 24일 국회의사당 잔디마당에서 열린 ‘2017 대한민국 드론 정책포럼’에서 조정식 국토교통위원장은 드론 산업의 중요성을 언급하며 이와 같이 말했다. 이번 포럼은 지난달 19일에 열린 ‘드론 산업 발전 기본계획 공청회’의 연장선에서 열린 행사로 조정식 국토교통위원장과 국토교통부가 주최하고 교통안전공단, 한국드론산업협회, 한국교통연구원, 한국ITS학회가 주관했다. 주/야간 영상획득용 드론, 송전탑/선로 진단용 드론, 드론을 이용한 3D 매핑, 농업용 드론, 소형무인기 탑재형 실시간 기상관측 드론 등이 전시되었다. 이와 더불어 드론레이싱협회 선수들이 펼치는 드론 레이싱, 산업용 드론 시연 등과 참가자 체험이 이뤄졌다.
