Analog Devices announced the release of the new LTM4651 non-isolated inverting output µModule regulator, which can generate an output of -26.5V to -0.5V with a positive (+) input supply voltage.

The LTM4651 operates over an input voltage range of 3.6V to 58V and is available as a compact solution in a 15mm x 9mm x 5.01mm BGA package. The new product provides –5VOUT, –12VOUT, –15VOUT, and –24VOUT outputs from industry-standard 5VIN, 12VIN, or 24VIN input voltages and is designed to meet the EN55022 Class B EMC standard for IT equipment.

Because this product supports a wide voltage range and low EMI characteristics, it can be used in applications in harsh environments such as measurement and instrumentation, industry, factory automation, process control, medical devices, imaging, and communications.

The LTM4651 incorporates a DC/DC inverting regulator, inductor, MOSFET, and compensation circuit, and is designed to function as a standalone inverting regulator solution without the need for any additional external circuitry. This contrasts with other competing solutions that require additional level shift circuitry.

The LTM4651 can supply a maximum output current of 4A or an output power of 24W. If higher output power is required, multiple LTM4651s can be connected in parallel. The switching frequency can be set using one external resistor in the range of 250kHz to 3MHz. The LTM4651 includes overcurrent and overtemperature protection functions.
