Public Cloud and Enterprise Cloud Have Different Strengths… Will Collaborate to Build Ecosystem

VMware, which presented a multi-cloud (cross-cloud) strategy at last year's VM World, has brought practical solutions this year. In short, Amazon's AWS and IBM Cloud can now be used in VMware Cloud. Additionally, the company is building and providing industry-specific solutions in manufacturing, finance, telecommunications, healthcare, and other sectors. VMware President Jeon In-ho held a media briefing on the 7th at the Coex InterContinental Hotel.

Companies with strengths in public cloud and enterprise cloud differ, so there are customers using multiple clouds together, and customers must "learn multiple even though one is difficult," with increased exposure to risk factors, which led to the launch of such services.



"It is collaboration, not a technical issue. There is cooperation with Microsoft's Azure. Beyond that, we believe that as an ecosystem is built with other companies, they will naturally participate together."

VMware's disclosed cloud services consist of ▲Discovery, which can discover applications and resources ▲Network Insight, which visualizes and controls operations between clouds ▲Cost Insight, which tracks and analyzes costs and usage trends ▲NSX Cloud, which can create private networks within or between clouds ▲Wave Front, which supports metrics-based monitoring and analysis ▲App Defense, which can designate and protect applications containing critical information.

President Jeon stated, "To help customers achieve digital transformation, we must first assist with expansion through public cloud, then plan the next steps," and as a second-half strategy, "We will work to build a security ecosystem and implement a partner ecosystem for flexible workspace implementation."
