JEC Asia Composite Materials and Materials Special Exhibition Held

The JEC Asia exhibition will showcase all composite material solutions for the entire end-user industry in Seoul from November 1 to 3, 2017.

As a global leader in composite materials, JEC Group continues to expand its business in Asia. Since hosting the first JEC Asia, an Asia-Pacific composite materials exhibition, in Singapore in 2008, JEC Group opened a branch office in Singapore in 2016. Currently, JEC is striving to strengthen its connection strategy with the end-user market and has moved the venue for the 10th JEC Asia exhibition to Seoul.

Composite materials offer users significant advantages such as lightweight properties, strength, insulation, corrosion resistance, freedom of design and form, texture selection, and maintenance. Given the increasing importance of resource conservation and environmental concerns, it is easy to understand why interest is rising across many industries and why composite materials are being used more frequently.



In 2016, Asia accounted for 43% of the global market in terms of value, recording 34.8 billion euros and achieving 93% growth over six years. Asia's major end-user markets are the consumer goods sector (30% of total production) and the electrical and electronics sector (27% of total production).

"Korea is showing tremendous growth. All composite materials industries, including automotive, aerospace, electronics, and sports and leisure, exist in this country," said Frederic Mutel, President and CEO of JEC Group. The point is that Korea's 'Golden Triangle,' composed of government agencies, research institutes, industry, and materials science and technology, can create synergy.

"Therefore, after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Jeonju Carbon Cluster in 2014, we signed an MOU with the Seoul Metropolitan Government in early February 2017, and we are pleased to receive support from the Seoul Metropolitan Government," said the CEO of Mutel.
