FLIR Launches Thermal Camera for Smartphones
Published2017.09.29 10:25FLIR Systems Korea announced the launch of the 3rd generation FLIR ONE and 1st generation FLIR ONE Pro thermal cameras.
FLIR ONE is a thermal camera product designed to enable thermal imaging on smartphones by utilizing FLIR's Lepton® thermal micro camera core. The new 3rd generation FLIR ONE is FLIR's most economical smartphone thermal camera product, while the 1st generation FLIR ONE Pro is the most cutting-edge FLIR ONE model released by FLIR to date.
The newly launched FLIR ONE, like previous models, is equipped with both a thermal camera and a high-resolution visible light camera. FLIR ONE and FLIR ONE Pro, which employ FLIR's patented MSX technology, dramatically enhance image quality by embedding high-fidelity visible light image details into thermal images.
Using the OneFit adjustable connector, users can attach FLIR ONE and FLIR ONE Pro thermal cameras to their smartphones without removing protective cases from smartphones or tablet PCs, and the connection length can be adjusted up to 4 millimeters to ensure compatibility with various cases.
With smartwatch compatibility, users can stream actual thermal images through Apple Watch and select Android smartwatches to see what is behind a corner, and can also capture images or videos using the smartwatch.
FLIR ONE Pro is designed for both professionals and general consumers and is the most advanced FLIR ONE product released to date. FLIR ONE Pro is rugged enough to withstand drop impact tests conducted from a height of 1.8 meters and is built to endure various tasks and outdoor environments.
FLIR ONE Pro integrates FLIR's patented MSX technology and VividIR video signal processing technology to deliver superior thermal image quality and clarity compared to existing FLIR ONE camera products. Additionally, it provides advanced features available only through the FLIR ONE App, such as multiple spot temperature measurement points and selectable on-screen temperature tracking areas.

FLIR Supplies Gas Imaging Cameras to SK Energy
FLIR Systems Korea announced that it has supplied the FLIR GF320 gas imaging camera to SK Energy's Ulsan Complex (hereinafter 'Ulsan CLX'). Lee Bo-rim, a manager at the Ulsan CLX Inspection Team 1, stated, "Most leaked gases are colorless, making detection difficult, but using the FLIR GF320 camera allows us to easily identify leakage points, which is very useful." He added, "Most importantly, since measurements can be taken from a distance, worker safety can be effectively ensured from hazardous gases." Manager Lee explained, "If we can only confirm where the leakage point is, in most cases the issue can be resolved with a simple task such as tightening bolts. However, if we cannot pinpoint the location, workers must repeatedly go through the cumbersome process of disassembling and reassembling facilities while isolating suspected areas. Furthermore, repair and loss costs would be substantial, and there could even be a risk of explosion in some cases."

Flir Systems Korea announced the launch of an aerial inspection kit equipped with thermal imaging cameras to enable easy and safe observation and inspection missions in locations that are difficult for people to access or in accident areas. The Flir aerial inspection kit released this time provides the effect of ensuring worker safety during inspection work in hazardous or accident areas while improving inspection efficiency and reducing inspection time and costs.
