ON Semiconductor Supplies Image Sensors for ADAS to Bosch
Published2017.11.13 10:30ON Semiconductor announced that Bosch has selected ON Semiconductor, a global leader in automotive image sensor technology, as an image sensor supplier for future camera technology for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
The new image sensor, designed to meet OEM requirements for future ADAS cameras, delivers high dynamic range (HDR) with state-of-the-art functional safety features.
When drivers become distracted while operating in-vehicle devices, this new technology can enhance safety by enabling easy identification of pedestrians and cyclists even in low-light environments. Safety standards such as EuroNCAP have established global safety requirements to increase compensation for accidents involving drivers vulnerable in low-lighting conditions and to mitigate the possibility of rear-end collisions. ON Semiconductor's new image sensor technology enables safety systems to operate smoothly even under these most challenging lighting conditions.
Ross Jatou, Vice President and General Manager of ON Semiconductor's Automotive Solutions Division, stated, "We have worked hard to apply industry-leading imaging technology to ADAS system production," and added, "Bosch and ON Semiconductor have established a new milestone in the development of innovative technology that can enhance safety not only inside the driving vehicle but also in road environments."

ON Semiconductor Unveils Sensor Capable of Delivering Clear Images Even Under Difficult Lighting Conditions
ON Semiconductor has unveiled a new 1/2.7-inch 2.3 megapixel (Mp) CMOS digital image sensor featuring a 1936H x 1188V active pixel array. The AR0239 delivers exceptionally clean and sharp digital images under challenging lighting conditions, both bright and dark. This device is an ideal solution for various applications including security and surveillance systems, body cameras, and automotive DVRs (dashboard cameras), with the capability to capture continuous video and single frames. Key features of the AR0239 include excellent low-light performance, robust near-infrared (NIR) quantum efficiency (QE), and high dynamic range scene capture capability. The high-sensitivity 3 micrometer (μm) x 3 μm backside-illuminated (BSI) pixel employing ON Semiconductor's Dr-Pix technology and enhanced NIR process demonstrates 21% improved response speed compared to previous devices, and also achieves 10% improved QE.

ON Semiconductor has introduced a new 1/4-inch, 1.0 megapixel (Mp) (1280H x 800V) CMOS digital image sensor that delivers industry-leading performance levels. The new sensor is capable of capturing clean and accurate images without artifacts under both bright and dark lighting conditions. High shutter efficiency and signal-to-noise ratio improve overall image quality while minimizing ghosting and noise effects. The 3.0 μm pixel AR0144 integrates an innovative global shutter design optimized to address increasingly stringent requirements for accurate and fast capture in static and dynamic scene applications. The sensor is offered in monochrome and color modes and is mounted in a 5.6mm x 5.6mm chip scale or bare die format, making it an ultra-compact sensor that can be easily integrated into space-constrained designs.

TI Unveils Multi-Axis Coreless Current Sensor TMCS2100-Q1 for HEV/EV Traction Inverters
Texas Instruments has unveiled the TMCS2100-Q1, a multi-axis coreless Hall-effect current sensor for HEV and EV traction inverters. By simultaneously measuring horizontal and vertical magnetic fields through multi-axis sensing technology, it achieves up to 20 times higher accuracy compared to conventional single-axis sensors, while the busbar-unmodified design provides mechanical design flexibility.
