CA Technologies Announces Latest Achievement from SW Incubator Program, 'FreshTracks.io'
Published2017.11.16 17:06CA Technologies Korea announced that it is opening applications for the FreshTracks.io beta program at CA World 2017, currently underway in Las Vegas, USA.
FreshTracks.io is one of the latest projects from CA’s software incubator program, ‘CA Accelerator.’ CA is currently providing support and funding to 10 startups enrolled in the program to develop and test new product ideas.
FreshTracks.io is the fourth container-centric project born from the CA Accelerator, developed to solve real-world problems that arise when monitoring and scaling containerized applications. As the importance of machine learning and automation grows, so does the need for container management technology. The FreshTracks.io project was launched as CA engineers sought ways to evolve microservices based on existing solutions.
Leveraging CA's expertise in the container field, the FreshTracks team focused on solving problems from a customer experience perspective rather than relying on existing tools. Based on open-source technology, the team implemented an autonomous learning monitoring system equipped with real-time intelligent alert capabilities by layering machine learning. In particular, the team developed a solution using Prometheus and Kubernetes to reduce container operating costs and enable rapid market launch.
While currently used container monitoring tools excel at collecting application health metrics, they fall short of detecting anomalies from those collected indicators. FreshTracks.io enhances application utilization through intelligent alerts powered by machine learning. Engineers can focus their time on more critical matters by utilizing efficient alerts that enable prompt troubleshooting.
Bob Cotton, co-founder of FreshTracks.io, stated, “CA Accelerator’s culture of valuing innovation is changing our perspective on solving customers’ immediate challenges. We experienced the need for container monitoring firsthand and developed a solution to share with other companies facing similar problems.” He added, “Thanks to CA Accelerator’s flexibility and resources, we developed FreshTracks.io and are excited about new market opportunities for developers.”

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
