MapR Releases Version 6.0 Unified Data Platform Maximizing Data Value

Key system updates from MapR include innovative automated management capabilities for platform performance and security, as well as a breakthrough multi-model NoSQL database for next-generation applications. Through MapR, enterprises benefit from a powerful modern data fabric that can collect diverse data sets at once, and can access an integrated single data source from on-premises data centers across all cloud environments and remote edge locations.
DataOps is increasingly growing among large organizations comprised of data scientists, developers, and people performing data-related work who train machine learning models and apply them to product production. The DataOps methodology aims to develop agile self-service workflows that encourage collaboration and foster creativity while ensuring compliance with data governance policies. DataOps provides cross-departmental collaboration that transcends role boundaries and shortens product time-to-market.

MEP is a comprehensive open source ecosystem project that supports compatibility between projects and enables big data applications to run on MapR's unified data platform. MEP 3.0 version provides enhanced security features for Spark, a new Spark Connector for MapR-DB and HBase, key features and integration capabilities through Drill, and improved performance for Hive.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
