SK Telecom Expands Mobile Education Service 'T Pocket Study'
Published2017.12.12 15:00SK Telecom announced that it is expanding and reorganizing its mobile English education service 'T Master' into 'T Pocket Study,' which allows users to take courses for Chinese, real estate agent exams, and civil service exams.
'T Master', launched by SK Telecom last October, is a service that allows users to access English education content, such as YBM Net's 'Popular New TOEIC & TOEIC Speaking Courses' and Study Max's 'Speaking Max Courses', through a smartphone app.
SK Telecom upgraded the existing 'T Master' to 'T Pocket Study' through strategic partnerships with renowned educational content providers in various fields, adding popular lecture content such as the famous Chinese language courses 'Moon Jung-ah All Pass' and 'ChinaTan Chinese,' as well as 'Hackers Real Estate Agent' and 'Eduwill Civil Service Free.'
In particular, to reduce the data fee burden for customers taking lectures via 'T Pocket Study', SK Telecom offers a data package that provides an additional 1GB of dedicated data daily (up to a maximum of 31GB per month) to SK Telecom customers.
The newly added course content includes ▲'Moon Jung-ah All-Pass Chinese Free' 15,000 won per month ▲'Moon Jung-ah Rhythm & Play Chinese Free' 13,000 won per month ▲'ChinaTan Chinese Free' 11,900 won per month It consists of ▲'Hackers Real Estate Agent Free' for 17,600 won per month ▲'Eduwill Civil Service Free' for 27,700 won per month, etc.
Customers who select two of English, Chinese, and Real Estate Agent within 'T Pocket Study' can also use the 'T Pocket Study 1+1 Combo' product at a low price, which allows them to use 2GB of dedicated data every day for 25,300 won per month.
To commemorate the launch of 'T Pocket Study,' SK Telecom is running a launch event until the end of February 2018, offering six course contents—including English, Chinese, and real estate agent courses—at a 50% discount. In addition, it is holding a joint event to provide KakaoTalk emoticons to the first 30,000 customers who download both 'T Pocket Study' and 'T Pay.'
SK Telecom’s Head of Product Marketing, Song Kwang-soo, stated, “Due to the high customer response to T Master, we have upgraded it to T Pocket Study through partnerships with various educational content providers,” adding, “We plan to aggressively secure diverse educational content based on T Pocket Study and continuously introduce customer-friendly services.”

SKT Notifies of Energy Production Equipment 'Failures' in Real Time
SK Telecom announced the launch of a service that enables remote real-time monitoring and control of energy production equipment through LoRa, an IoT-dedicated network. SK Telecom's energy facility management IoT service is applied to energy equipment and collects and analyzes operational and fault data from the equipment through the IoT network, enabling real-time identification of malfunctions. Unlike the existing service, which was limited to monitoring energy consumption status in various buildings to reduce energy costs, this approach enables remote management and control of facilities in real-time, making it possible to reduce maintenance costs and respond quickly when faults occur.

SKT Opens 50th 'T Developer Forum'
SK Telecom's 'T Developer Forum,' the only platform in Korea where developers gather monthly to communicate and share ideas, has reached its 50th session. SK Telecom announced that it held the '50th T Developer Forum' at SK Telecom's headquarters in Euljiro with the theme of '5G,' attended by approximately 500 developers from Korea and abroad. The 'T Developer Forum' began in July 2012 with about 30 domestic developers gathering under the theme of 'differentiated software and application development based on smartphones.' Subsequently, the forum expanded its topics to encompass ICT across the Fourth Industrial Revolution, including IoT, Big data, Cloud, and AI, and the number of attendees increased tenfold to an average of 300 participants.

SK Telecom First Applies AI-Based Network Operations at Gwanghwamun K-Pop Concert
SK텔레콤이 3월 21일 서울 광화문 일대에서 열린 대형 K-팝 공연에 AI 기반 네트워크 운영 시스템을 처음 적용해 통신 품질을 관리했다고 밝혔다. 공연 전후 3시간 동안 모바일 데이터 사용량은 12.15TB로 직전 주말 같은 시간대보다 약 2배 늘었다. SK텔레콤은 AI 시스템 ‘A-One’을 활용해 5분 단위, 50m 단위로 트래픽을 감시하며 과부하 가능성에 대응했고, 임시 통신 시설과 현장 인력 운영도 병행했다. 밀집 행사와 외국인 이용 수요가 동시에 늘어나는 환경에서 AI 기반 자율 네트워크 운영의 현장 적용 가능성을 확인한 사례로 해석된다.
