Huawei CEO Richard Yu Announces Future Connectivity Technologies at CES 2018
Published2017.12.15 10:14Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, will serve as a keynote speaker at CES 2018, the world's largest consumer electronics exhibition, to be held in Las Vegas, USA from January 9-12 (local time) next year.
Richard Yu will be a CES keynote speaker for the second consecutive year, and this year he is scheduled to present on "Huawei's Future Connectivity technologies and strategies applied to artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and new smart devices." Richard Yu's keynote speech will be held for approximately one hour starting at 2:00 PM on January 9 at the Palazzo Ballroom of The Venetian Las Vegas.
CEO Richard Yu attended two international IT exhibitions this year as a keynote speaker at CES 2017 and IFA 2017, where he shared insights on global IT trends and unveiled the company's innovative technologies. The flagship smartphone "Mate 9" unveiled at CES 2017 in January this year is a product equipped with Amazon's AI assistant Alexa and was selected as the best product by leading global media outlets. At IFA 2017 in September, he unveiled the company's first mobile AI chipset "Kirin 970," and previewed key new technologies to be applied to the "Mate 10" launched in October.
Meanwhile, Huawei invests more than 10% of its annual revenue in research and development (R&D) while focusing on securing global technology leadership. As of December 2016, total R&D investment over the past 10 years has reached approximately $45 billion, and the company is accelerating new technology development based on a total of 15 global R&D centers including those in the United States, Germany, Sweden, Russia, India, and China.

Huawei's Consumer Business Group is expanding its service centers nationwide to a total of 67 locations by the end of this year. This will diversify cooperation with domestic partner companies, including one directly managed service center, to further enhance accessibility and convenience for domestic customers.
