LG Electronics Vice Chairman Jo Seong-jin emphasized at the New Year's event that "to become a sustainable company, we must properly read change and fundamentally transform our business methods to create customer value unique to LG."

Vice Chairman Jo first evaluated the previous year as "a period in which we focused on preparing and executing profit-based growth across all business operations."

He continued, "This year marks the 60th year since LG Electronics began operations. Although the ways of competition and cooperation have changed and protectionism is intensifying, let us recall the founding spirit that has driven changes in people's lives through endless challenge, break away from existing frameworks, and make a leap forward as a new LG Electronics."

To this end, Vice Chairman Jo presented three core initiatives: ▲advancing business structure for virtuous cycle of profit-based growth ▲pioneering future technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data and leading the convergence era through external collaboration ▲building a challenging, youthful, and vibrant organizational culture.

For business structure advancement, Vice Chairman Jo emphasized, "In B2C business, focus on leading the market based on discovering differentiated customer value and nurturing premium brands, while in B2B business, secure new business opportunities by providing customer-optimized solutions."

To lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution era and drive better lives, he stated, "Let us establish a system capable of pioneering the convergence era by creating synergies through future technology leadership in artificial intelligence and big data across existing businesses and strengthening external collaboration."

He further emphasized, "Starting from the essence of customer value, let us take proactive and bold initiatives, and even when we fail, establish a culture where we do not give up but challenge again, creating a youthful and vibrant organizational culture." He also urged, "Execute 'quality and safety,' the most fundamental and important promise to our customers, flawlessly, and practice 'principled management' that creates results through fair and legitimate competence without wavering."
