Lineup Comprised of Three Models: 250GB, 500GB, and 2TB

Daewon CTS is strengthening its lineup following the exclusive launch of the Micron Crucial MX500 (hereinafter Micron MX500) 1TB on December 19th, and is now releasing 250GB/500GB/2TB products.

The new product lineup of the Micron MX500, a "never die zombie SSD" with improved speed, performance, lifespan, and stability, adds a total of three products—250GB, 500GB, and 2TB—in addition to the existing 1TB model. Through this, we anticipate that consumers looking to purchase the Micron MX500, which has enhanced performance and stability compared to the previous MX300 series, will have wider options to choose from.

The most notable feature of the Micron MX500 is the extended warranty to 5 years. While the existing Micron Crucial lineup had a 3-year warranty, as performance and data stability have improved, the Micron MX500's inherent lifespan has also increased, resulting in the warranty being extended from 3 to 5 years. Additionally, users who felt that the 3-year warranty was short will be pleased with the 5-year warranty.

The Micron MX500 employs 3D TLC NAND flash, stacking layers at different heights to minimize electronic interference with wider spacing. This enables mounting of higher capacity and resolves the performance degradation issues that were problematic with conventional TLC.

Compared to the Micron Crucial MX300, the Micron MX500 demonstrates enhanced performance with a read speed of 560MB/s, which is 30MB/s faster, and is equipped with the SILICON MS2258 3D NAND controller solution based on Micron's custom firmware that maintains optimal performance of 3D NAND TLC with its proprietary algorithm.

Additionally, with a TBW (Total Bytes Written) of 700TB based on 2TB capacity, it features high-level data longevity, further strengthening its credentials as a zombie SSD.

When comparing a standard hard disk drive (HDD) with the Micron MX500, it demonstrates superior characteristics not only in performance but in other aspects as well. With low-power design, it offers energy efficiency 45 times higher than a standard HDD, providing longer usage time, making it an essential product for users who primarily use notebooks and portable devices.

Users of notebooks often experience instances where power is cut off; in such cases, the integrated power loss protection feature can prove invaluable. Even when power is unexpectedly lost, all saved work can be preserved, and additionally, with its low power consumption of only 0.1W, it generates minimal heat dissipation and can be used anywhere, with the added advantage of extending notebook lifespan.
