Solution to Address Autonomous Vehicle Security Issues Including Hacking Detection, Defense, and Security Threat Response
LG Electronics: "Will Enable Effective Response to Security, an Essential Requirement for Autonomous Vehicles"

LG Electronics has signed an agreement with U.S.-based Honeywell to jointly develop an integrated security solution for autonomous vehicles. Vehicle security is a critical technology directly linked to passenger safety in the autonomous driving era. The solution being developed is expected to address the concerns of complete vehicle manufacturers regarding security issues across four essential domains required for autonomous vehicles.



The two companies will develop, by year-end, an integrated solution covering all security areas of autonomous vehicles, including ▲hacking detection and defense against attacks through external communication networks ▲security threat response targeting vehicle internal networks through USB ports and similar interfaces ▲security technologies for various automotive electrical components ▲cloud-based security control centers that monitor and respond to the security status of numerous vehicles in real-time.

LG Electronics possesses extensive business experience and advanced technological capabilities in IDPS (Intrusion Detection and Prevention System), a technology for detecting and responding to security threats targeting vehicles through external communication networks, as well as firewalls and security software embedded in individual automotive electrical components such as telematics and AV navigation systems.
