Pivotal Unveils Cloud Platform Including Serverless Computing Products

This announcement included new serverless computing products such as Pivotal Functions Service (PFS), Pivotal Container Service (PKS), and Pivotal Services Marketplace.
Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) is an integrated business operations platform provided as a single software platform capable of supporting and scaling hundreds of IT teams and thousands of applications. This enables enterprise customers to enjoy various benefits, including developer productivity, operational efficiency, comprehensive security, and high availability.
Software developers can focus on accelerating feature delivery instead of operational tasks. Through PCF's modern runtime portfolio, engineers can utilize the appropriate tools for these tasks in a similar manner, such as pushing code, managing containers, and running functions.
Large-scale PCF environments can be configured with a developer-to-operator ratio of 500:1. Operations teams can handle system updates with minimal downtime. PCF is easy to manage because it operates in the same way in public clouds or enterprise data centers.
Information security teams can protect customer data with PCF while reducing risks associated with manual practices. PCF utilizes an automated “3 R method,” which involves rapidly repairing systems, frequently regenerating the operating environment, and regularly rotating credentials.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
