Supports storage products installed in smartphones, tablet PCs, and automobiles

MIPI Alliance has released 'MIPI UniPro v1.8,' which is used to connect mobile chipsets and peripheral components.

Miffy Unipro v1.8 has faster data transfer speeds than the previous version and incorporates technology that guarantees the quality of bulk transfers. The technical specifications were first adopted by the JEDEC Solid State Technology Association, and MIFI Unipro v1.8 is used in the interconnection layer of Universal Flash Storage (UFS) Version 3.0 memory components installed in smartphones, tablet PCs, and mobile computing products, as well as in infotainment platforms and telematics hubs of automotive systems.

The MIFI Unipro protocol is embedded in the physical layer of MIFI M-PHY. The new v1.8 version operates on v4.1, the latest version of MIFI M-PHY, significantly improving transmission capacity, system performance, and quality of service.

Key Features of Miffy Unipro v1.8
With the ability to use the M-PHY v4.1 transmission mode known as 'High Speed GEAR 4', the data transmission speed is doubled from the previous specification (v1.61) to 11.6 Gbps per lane.

The bit error rates of the forward and reverse links, as well as receiver performance, can be continuously monitored. Miffy Unipro v1.8 can dynamically 'retrain' communication channels, enabling the update of link configurations to provide reliability and Quality of Service (QoS) while transmitting at high speeds.

The Quality of Service (QoS) maintenance function enables reliable data transmission even in systems with severe fluctuations and extreme temperatures, such as automotive applications. Furthermore, it extends the system's lifespan by tracking, monitoring, and responding to performance issues related to the aging of interconnects.

The Miffy Unipro v1.8 Link can be installed with just four wires, allowing for efficient integration and cost reduction. It can be conveniently upgraded from version v1.61 to the new version and is compatible with previous specifications.
