Veritas Technologies announced CloudPoint 2.0, a powerful snapshot management and orchestration technology that leverages Microsoft Azure's native snapshot capabilities.

CloudPoint 2.0 provides extensive data protection capabilities and enables customers to replicate, search, and classify data in innovative ways.

CloudPoint 2.0, which supports seamless integration with MS Azure, enables easy deployment, easy scaling, and cost-effective operation. Designed for multi-cloud environments, CloudPoint 2.0 is highly flexible and supports a variety of next-generation cloud-based workloads.

The Azure integrated support feature announced this time was implemented based on the strategic partnership between Microsoft and Veritas in 2017, and prior to this, Veritas introduced the MS Azure-enabled 360 data management solution to help customers extract greater value from their data.

Enterprises can leverage CloudPoint 2.0 to utilize cloud-based snapshot technology for a wider range of purposes, including backup and recovery, from an easy-to-use self-service dashboard.

CloudPoint 2.0 features extensive catalog creation capabilities that enable detailed data recovery, and enterprises can utilize snapshot technology to locate specific information and restore it to a single file within seconds. Enterprises can enhance disaster recovery capabilities by easily replicating data between the same cloud regions (in-cloud replication). Additionally, policies can be configured to automatically create snapshots at regular intervals.

Companies can easily search for data and assign classification tags. In addition, it enables the rapid identification and deletion of personally identifiable information (PII), providing a crucial function for companies worldwide to comply with strict compliance requirements, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

CloudPoint 2.0 is available through Veritas and Veritas channel partners worldwide in one Freemium model, which offers select features for free via an annual subscription, and two paid models. It can be purchased from the Azure Marketplace and easily deployed immediately in an Azure environment. CloudPoint 2.0 is part of the Veritas Technology Ecosystem (VTE) program, and through the VTE program, partners can certify solutions for CloudPoint and attract customers migrating to the cloud.
