Low standby power of less than 75mW and high average load efficiency

Artesyn Embedded Technologies announced the DA45C series AC-DC power adapter, which combines high-efficiency fast charging performance in a small package with a USB-PD (Power Delivery) 3.0 Type-C output connector.

The DA45C provides four output voltage levels of 5, 9, 15, and 20 V and an output current of up to 5 amperes, delivering up to 45 watts of power, so it can be used to charge laptops, tablets, smartphones, and other USB-PD compatible appliances.

By using this new wall-mount adapter, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) can comply with U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) Level VI and European Code of Conduct (CoC) V5 Tier 2 Directive efficiency standards. The goal of these standards is to reduce energy waste caused by external power supplies in both no-load and normal operation.

The Artesyn DA45C series features extremely low standby power of less than 75 mW at 5 Vdc and a high average load efficiency of over 88% at 20 Vdc. It also features enhanced insulation performance of 3000 Vac RMS and additional safety functions such as protection against overvoltage, overcurrent, short circuits, and overtemperature.

An external power supply built into a small package of 58 x 40.2 x 27 mm (excluding pins) can be used with pins for US, European, or Chinese type sockets. Safety and EMC approvals include UL 60950-1 and 62368-1, TUV, CE, CCC, PSE, and NRCAN.
