SK Telecom has signed an agreement to supply its smart home services to residential products being sold by MDM Plus. At a signing ceremony attended by Heo Il-kyu, Head of SK Telecom’s IoT/Data Business Division, and Koo Myung-wan, CEO of MDM Plus, they agreed to integrate AI-based IoT technology into smart home services within individual units and smart living services in common areas. The first complex to apply this is 'Gwanggyo The Sharp Lake City,' which begins sales on the 15th.
In addition to smart home services, key functions such as parking control, CCTV, unmanned parcel delivery, and common entrances are provided through an integrated application, which is expected to enhance resident convenience and increase management efficiency by saving energy and improving the utilization rate of common facilities.
In addition, based on SK Telecom's IoT solutions, both companies plan to analyze residents' actual usage patterns using big data to optimize the design of future living spaces and infrastructure, and to enhance resident satisfaction through continuous support.
With this agreement, SK Telecom has been able to diversify its business models related to smart home solutions, such as home networks, parking control, CCTV, and unmanned delivery. Based on its stable smart home service capabilities provided in partnership with over 40 domestic construction companies and manufacturers such as Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, the company plans to lead IoT services.
MDM Plus, a leading domestic real estate developer, has been supplying the market with high-value-added spaces featuring a complex mix of residential, office, commercial, and cultural facilities in areas such as Pangyo, Gwanggyo New Town, Haeundae, and Goyang Samsong District, and is expected to transform the real estate development market by expanding the smart home sector to encompass entire communities.
“If we can apply IoT technology at the community level through cooperation with Korea’s No. 1 real estate development company, we will be able to introduce a variety of meaningful services for the smart city era,” explained Heo Il-gyu, Head of the IoT/Data Business Division at SK Telecom.

SKT Wins "Enterprise Mobile Service Innovation Award," the Telecom Industry's Oscar
SK Telecom announced that its 'LiveCare' service won the 'Enterprise Mobile Service Innovation Award' at the MWC 2018 GSMA Global Mobile Awards. This category honors companies that showcase services and products capable of contributing to enterprise productivity improvements in areas such as data management, service innovation, and security. 'LiveCare' is an IoT livestock management system developed through collaboration between SK Telecom and Youlike Korea, enabling farm owners to monitor cattle conditions in real-time. The service deploys a biocapsule equipped with an IoT communication module in the first stomach (rumen) of cattle to check body temperature and pH levels, thereby providing various information including disease and calving sign detection and optimal breeding timing prediction.
