STM-Innogration LDMOS Technology License Agreement Concluded
Published2018.03.13 11:48STMicroelectronics (ST) announced that it has entered into an agreement with Innogration Technologies, a Chinese fabless semiconductor company, regarding LDMOS RF power technology.
LDMOS devices integrate short conduction channels and high breakdown voltage, making them suitable not only for power amplifiers for commercial and industrial systems but also for RF power amplifiers used in base stations for wireless communication systems. Through this agreement with Innogration, ST has expanded the range of applications that can be supported by LDMOS technology.
RF is a communication method that exchanges information through radio frequency. As a broadband communication method utilizing frequency, it is not significantly affected by environmental factors and offers high reliability. It is characterized by fast transmission speed as voice and other additional functions can be integrated.

Mouser Electronics supplies ST Microelectronics' STWLC33 inductive wireless power receiver. The STWLC33 is an integrated multi-mode wireless power receiver solution optimized for portable fast charging applications (up to 15W). It complies with both the Qi 1.2 and PMA-SR1 AirFuel inductive wireless standards communication protocols from the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), enabling fast charging of portable devices regardless of protocol. By using ST's STWLC33 inductive wireless power receiver supplied by Mouser, dual-function portable devices can be easily operated. It offers multiple advantages including enhanced user experience, fast wireless charging speed, and system efficiency. The STWLC33 is an ST product that operates as a 3W transmitter, using the same coil to deliver power to other receivers. In other words, users can charge a device wirelessly and simultaneously use that device to charge another device. The STWLC33 is also the first device to provide output voltage capable of charging a 2-cell lithium-ion battery.

ST Adds Sigfox Package to STM32 for Long-Range/Low-Power Wireless Network Connectivity
STMicroelectronics (ST) has added a Sigfox package to the STM32 software ecosystem. This package enables simplified development and enhances flexibility in connecting long-range, low-power wireless networks and IoT devices. The new X-CUBE-SFOX package is compatible with ST's B-L072Z-LRWAN1 Discovery Kit, which supports LoRa communication through the embedded software I-CUBE-LRWAN. Developers can choose one of these two LPWAN (Low-Power Wide Area Network) technologies and work on the same hardware, and product development is also possible that uses both protocols or selectively employs them. This Discovery Kit is comprised of Murata's CMWX1ZZABZ-091 module driven by the microcontroller STM32L072 and Semtech's sub-GHz wireless transceiver SX1276, and allows adding sensor functionality or capabilities of other IoT devices through Arduino headers.
