ZKTeco, a Chinese biometric identification and physical security company, announced its official entry into the Korean market at a press conference held at The Plaza Hotel in Sogong-dong.

Operating branch offices in 31 countries worldwide, ZKTeco has been serving as Korea's representative office since establishing a strategic partnership with C&B Tech in January. The company unveiled its products for the first time at SECON 2018, which began on the 14th, and announced plans to strengthen customer service capabilities.

While existing companies in access control and biometric recognition focus only on fingerprint and facial recognition, ZKTeco possesses foundational technological capabilities in comprehensive biometric information recognition, including fingerprints, facial features, finger veins, palm geometry, palm veins, and iris recognition.

Chairman John Che stated, "In smart cities that are drawing global attention, information combining artificial intelligence and biometric recognition is an indispensable component," and explained, "The biometric recognition industry holds high potential for advancement in the fourth industrial revolution era."

ZKTeco announced that all products are provided with a basic 2-year complimentary after-sales service warranty without conditions. High-end product lines in the Green Label category support a basic 3-year free service period. Pricing has been set at an average of 30-40% lower.

Kim Pan-hee, Director overseeing ZKTeco's Korea business marketing and communications, stated, "There is a perception that Chinese products are inexpensive. There is a tendency to think there must be a separate reason for the low prices, but those who understand know that China has achieved technological competitiveness," adding, "It is not simply about selling cheaply. We plan to expand online sales outlets and distributors to create a new circulation structure." The company announced plans to establish integrated customer service centers in seven key regional areas, including six major metropolitan cities, by 2019.

ZKTeco products are optimized for 'non-contact' and 'multi-authentication' applications. For access control and attendance management systems, the company provides web-based integrated platform software, enabling one-stop construction of integrated physical security systems without inconvenience for system integration.

The company is continuously introducing fourth-generation products to the market aligned with its 'Bio4' strategy, covering fingerprints, facial features, finger veins, and palm veins. Iris recognition products have also completed the commercialization stage.

Green Label products incorporate the SilkID fingerprint recognition sensor. This sensor employs anti-spoofing authentication technology and recognizes fingerprints even from dry or moist fingers. Recognition is possible even when only part of the fingerprint is visible or unclear. Facial recognition products also use algorithms that identify facial images from various angles, not just frontal views.

We will spare no effort in active investment to ensure that our competitiveness is recognized in the Korean market," adding, "Entry into the Korean market will become an important milestone for ZKTeco's global business vision."

In Korea, ZKTeco will focus on access control/attendance management systems, operational software/platforms, and speed gates as leading products, with plans to expand supply of integrated security solutions and system products.
