NI Proposes Efficient Aging Equipment Inspection Solution with 'NI InsightCM'

National Instruments Korea (hereinafter NI) showcased smart factory solutions that reduce costs and time while implementing customer-customized product productivity at 'Automation World 2018' held for four days from March 28th to 30th.
NI unveiled 'NI InsightCM', an online condition monitoring solution, 'FieldDAQ' which ensures accurate measurement by executing powerful distributed synchronization through TSN functionality, and modules such as 'SystemLink' and 'LabVIEW NXG' that implement robust web-based user interface design.
'NI InsightCM' collects and analyzes data from sensors and equipment to generate alarms and visualize data. It minimizes multiple monitoring system tasks and improves performance and uptime. It features easy management, cost savings, and safety. Additionally, the core technology TSN (Time Sensitive Networking) supports precise device synchronization over the network through standard Ethernet updates. It is also used in multiple applications by assigning data priority.
At this exhibition, NI handled various sensors such as diverse IO modules while emphasizing integration with other systems and flexibility. Notably, NI's products are utilized in energy generation facilities and grid industries, semiconductor manufacturing and mass production lines, where they perform complex testing.
Furthermore, it forecasted that issues in the monitoring field will continue to increase. As production lines enter mass production phases, aging equipment inevitably emerges. If product and equipment conditions are not inspected in advance, time and cost losses occur due to defects and other issues. Therefore, it stated that demand for monitoring systems that diagnose products and facilities in advance will increase.
Joo Ho-joong, deputy manager at Korea NI's Strategic Marketing Measurement and Embedded Division, stated, "National Instruments Korea explained what is needed for smart factory construction and complete automation while highlighting the company's strengths," and emphasized the importance of collaboration, adding "we will provide solutions through partnerships in insufficient areas." He further noted, "At this exhibition, we focused on online condition monitoring solutions valued in each industry sector and TSN networking as all equipment is now configured with Ethernet networks," explaining what the company sought to gain through participation.

To implement virtual environment simulation, Inno Simulation and IPG Korea constructed a 3 km area around Sangam-dong, and this virtual environment was configured to include an actual vehicle environment where real drivers can operate. NI Technology Successfully Reduces Subaru's Electric Vehicle Test Development Time by 90%
National Instruments (NI) announced that major automotive manufacturers such as Subaru in Japan have adopted NI HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) technology to simulate real-world road environments required for electric vehicle testing, thereby eliminating environmental factors and reducing test time and costs. Typically, vehicle performance and safety response inspections are conducted using complete vehicles in test facilities or on public roads. However, due to constraints such as weather and unpredictable road surface conditions, it is difficult to perform reproducible tests in a timely manner. Additionally, electric vehicles have many interdependent subsystems, making them considerably more complex than conventional vehicles. Such complex testing environments compound the difficulty of work for automotive test engineers who face challenges due to short development cycles and limited budgets. To address these issues, Subaru applied NI HIL simulation solutions based on NI PXI products and LabVIEW software in place of real-world roads for validation testing. Through the adoption of the HIL system, environmental factors were eliminated prior to actual vehicle diagnostics, enabling efficient and thorough testing of the vehicle's embedded controller in a virtual environment.

H.Energy has obtained green technology certification from the Small and Medium Business Administration for solar power generation forecasting and I-V curve anomaly diagnosis technology. The AI-based asset management platform SolarOnCare is deployed across more than 3,000 power plants nationwide, achieving a system uptime of 99.82% and a 3.7% improvement in power generation performance. Through real-time data analysis, it protects power generation revenue by detecting and managing minor losses such as module degradation and partial shading early on.
