LG Electronics and LG Chem Take the Lead in Promoting the Eco-friendly Social Economy

The two companies and the Ministry of Environment signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the LG Twin Towers in Yeouido, Seoul, to promote the social economy in the eco-friendly sector. Attendees included Vice Minister of Environment Ahn Byung-ok, LG Electronics Vice President Lee Chung-hak, LG Electronics Union Chairman Bae Sang-ho, LG Chem Executive Director Park Joon-sung, and Korea Social Enterprise Agency Planning and Management Director Kim Jong-gak.
Under the agreement, LG Electronics and LG Chem decided to continue investing in LG Social Campus and establish a comprehensive step-by-step support system for the growth of eco-friendly social economy enterprises through multilateral cooperation.
The two companies will invest 4 billion won by 2021 to operate the 'LG Social Campus,' providing support such as finance, consulting, and office space to help eco-friendly social economy enterprises build a foundation for growth, and will also run various educational programs for talent development. In addition, the Ministry of Environment provides consulting and advice on education programs for the discovery and nurturing of eco-friendly social enterprises.
LG Electronics and LG Chem plan to hold an open competition on the 26th for companies selected through document screening, on-site inspections, and interviews, and will evaluate social value, sustainability, and feasibility of support to select about 10 companies as finalists.
At the signing ceremony, Vice Minister Ahn Byeong-ok of the Ministry of Environment said, “We look forward to actively promoting multilateral cooperation to practice the true meaning of mutual growth, as well as contributing to the revitalization of the social economy and the creation of an ecosystem.”
Lee Chung-hak, Vice President and Head of Management Support at LG Electronics, emphasized, “We will actively support eco-friendly social economy enterprises so that they can build their own competitiveness and grow into key players in solving environmental problems.”

LG전자가 서울 강서구 마곡에 위치한 LG사이언스파크 내 ‘소프트웨어 업그레이드 센터’에서 현판식을 열고 LG 스마트폰의 철저한 사후지원을 다짐했다. 이번 현판식에는 조성진 부회장, MC사업본부장 황정환 부사장 등 최고 경영진들이 참석했다. 조부회장은 이 자리에서 “사후 서비스는 고객의 목소리가 철저히 반영돼야 한다”라며 “안정적이고 지속적인 업그레이드로 ‘믿고 오래 쓸 수 있는 스마트폰’이라는 신뢰를 보여줄 것”을 주문했다. 이어 조부회장은 “고객들의 목소리를 겸허하게 받아들이고 항상 새 폰처럼 최적의 성능을 유지할 수 있게 해야 한다”며 “한 치의 오차도 없이 빈틈없는 지원으로 고객들이 늘 안정적이고 빠른 서비스를 받을 수 있도록 노력해 달라”고 당부했다.
