Vertiv Launches New UPS Solutions for Industrial Applications
Published2018.04.17 16:57Vertiv announced the launch of its new Liebert ITA2 uninterruptible power supply (UPS) solution, boasting superior efficiency and robustness for a variety of IT and industrial applications. The Liebert ITA2 is available in two capacities, 5-10kVA and 16-20kVA, and will be available throughout Asia, including Australia and New Zealand, starting in April.
The Liebert ITA2 incorporates several technologies that enable a variety of power protection functions at a low cost of ownership. This solution has passed numerous environmental tests involving extremely harsh conditions and has proven its durability in both high and low temperatures. It is certified for altitude and seismic resistance, as well as dust and moisture resistance, ensuring industrial-grade power protection.
The Liebert ITA2 is designed to be extremely rugged, making it ideal for a wide range of edge applications, including banks, hospitals, retail stores, and industrial facilities that require 24/7 availability, such as manufacturing, rail networks, ships, and offshore installations.
“Customers now demand higher levels of power protection for their critical systems and want their solutions to perform well in harsh environments,” said Andy Liu, director of Vertiv’s small and micro UPS and converged solutions business in Asia. This is especially true for customers in parts of Asia, where high temperatures put them at a higher risk of power outages. The Liebert ITA2 was designed to address these needs, emphasizing a rugged design and compact footprint.”
The Liebert ITA2 is a fully digital double-conversion UPS solution that achieves up to 96.3% efficiency across a wide range of load conditions, delivering significant cost savings. With a power factor (PF) of 1.0, it delivers greater power than standard UPS solutions. Its compact size allows for seamless integration into a variety of IT environments, and it also incorporates security features that immediately alert users in the event of a critical system issue.
“Liebert ITA2 is one of the new products we have added to the Vertiv product portfolio to address the growing demand for high-efficiency, high-reliability products in a variety of IT and industrial applications in Asia,” said Chee Hoe Ling, vice president of products, solutions and marketing for Vertiv Asia.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
