BSH Adopts Siemens Simcenter Technology for Product Behavior Analysis
Published2018.04.27 10:21BSH Hausgerate GmbH announced that it has adopted Siemens Simcenter STAR-CCM+ software to complement its computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis capabilities.
STAR-CCM+, part of the Simcenter portfolio, is a CFD-centric multiphysics simulation tool that integrates intelligent design exploration and various physics in a unique way within a single end-to-end environment.
BSH can use Simcenter STAR-CCM+ to analyze and explore product behavior, enabling data-driven decision-making from the early stages of the development process. Additionally, access to simulation data from the early design stages allows for driving product innovation and enabling faster product development.
“Adopting Simcenter STAR-CCM+ offers a clear advantage in accelerating the product development process, especially when implementing digital twins to support future business expansion. The BSH business unit can reduce development time and costs by simulating products early in the development process using CFD analysis, thereby enabling us to deliver enhanced products with greater value to our customers,” said Uwe Tontsch, Head of IT for Product Lifecycle Management at BSH.
Simcenter STAR-CCM+ provides a modern single user interface for pre-processing and post-processing tasks, as well as for all CFD-related fields and solvers. BSH cited usability as the most significant benefit of using Simcenter STAR-CCM+ for decision-making. In particular, BSH plans to expand CFD analysis for its products by utilizing the efficient pre-processing capabilities of Simcenter STAR-CCM+. BSH also operates its global Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system using the Siemens Teamcenter portfolio. Teamcenter is a solution that can be easily integrated with tools such as Simcenter STAR-CCM+.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems.
