Website Opens Ahead of Opening of the Korea Transport Technology Exhibition, Online Participant Pre-registration Begins

Ahead of the opening of the '2018 KICT Exhibition,' where visitors can experience driving technologies for national innovative growth such as autonomous driving, smart cities, drones, construction automation, and intelligent railways all in one place, the Korea Institute of Construction Technology (KICT) launched its website and began online pre-registration for participants.

Hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and organized by the Korea Institute of Land and Housing, this event is scheduled to be held for two days from June 7 (Thu) to June 8 (Fri) at Hall D on the 3rd floor of COEX in Seoul under the theme 'Technology that fulfills dreams, a future enjoyed together'.

This event is the nation's only exhibition of achievements in land, infrastructure, and transport technology, where you can see future innovative technologies in one place that are directly related to the quality of life of the people and serve as the foundation for national development, including urban development, transportation and logistics, architecture, and railways.

Along with an exhibition of major R&D achievements related to the eight innovative growth engines of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, special lectures by experts such as Director Shin Jae-won (Director of NASA), Professor Jung Ji-hoon (Professor at Kyung Hee Cyber University), and Professor Jung Jae-seung (Professor of Bioengineering and Brain Science at KAIST), as well as numerous seminars and workshops involving industry, academia, and research institutes, are scheduled to take place.

A variety of events are also being prepared, including the 'Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Good-job Fair,' a job fair, and themed pavilions and experience halls for technology commercialization and new technologies.

An official from the Korea Institute of Land and Transport said, “The Land, Infrastructure and Transport Technology Fair promotes the field application and technology transfer of land, infrastructure and transport technologies through the exhibition of technologies and various technology exchanges.”"We expect this event to contribute to the development of the land, infrastructure, and transport industry as a promotional platform to promote [the industry]," he stated.

He also said, “Through achievement exhibitions, knowledge forums, policy and academic seminars, and various workshop programs, we will make it clear that land, infrastructure, and transport technology is a major driving force creating new value in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and we will do our best to promote it as a ‘people-centered living technology’ that makes the living spaces of the people safer and more comfortable.”
