Knowledge Forum Hosting Expert Lectures on Future Technology and Fourth Industrial Revolution

The '2018 Land, Infrastructure and Transport Technology Fair' hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and organized by the Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement will host a 'Knowledge Forum' featuring future technology and Fourth Industrial Revolution experts.

The Knowledge Forum of the Technology Fair, open to anyone interested in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and future technologies, will feature expert lectures on the theme of 'Future Technology and the Fourth Industrial Revolution with People at the Center'.

Held for the second time following last year, this 'Knowledge Forum' will invite Director Shin Jae-won from NASA (U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration), Professor Jung Ji-hoon, author of 'Future Automobile Mobility Revolution', and Professor Jung Jae-seung from KAIST Department of Bio and Brain Engineering to deliver topic-specific lectures and participate in on-site Q&A sessions and dialogue with the audience.

On the opening day, June 7th (Thursday), Director Shin Jae-won of NASA (U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration) will deliver a lecture on 'The 21st Century: New Era of Aviation'. The dreaming young boy who witnessed the moon landing of Apollo 11 will now serve as the top official in NASA's aviation division, and is expected to share diverse stories about aviation with future generations.

On the morning of the 8th (Friday), Professor Jung Ji-hoon, author of 'Future Automobile Mobility Revolution', will speak on 'Future Society and Future Mobility', sharing stories about automobiles that will evolve in future society. In particular, as one of the renowned future vision strategists, this expert is expected to emphasize that the key to opening the future is people, not technology, and to present a new perspective to our era.

In the afternoon, Professor Jung Jae-seung, a science mentor of this era and recently appointed as the Smart City Master Planner, will discuss 'Fourth Industrial Revolution and Smart City', introducing the appearance of future cities that will soon become our living spaces and human life within them. As an expert in convergence and fusion across entirely different fields such as neuroscience, architecture, and artificial intelligence, diverse perspectives free from preconceived notions are expected to be presented.

An official from the Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement stated that "the Knowledge Forum, featuring lectures from renowned experts of this era, is receiving high interest following last year" and added that "it will be a good opportunity to gain a new perspective on the Fourth Industrial Revolution era and glimpse the future through land, infrastructure and transport technology".
