Held in Gyeongju for two days starting June 7

At the '2018 Land, Infrastructure and Transport Technology Exhibition,' hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and organized by the Korea Institute of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Technology, the "2018 Land, Infrastructure and Transport Big Data Hackathon," a two-day, overnight race to find solutions to land, infrastructure and transport-related problems using big data, will be held.

This hackathon, held for 27 hours from 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 7—the first day of the technology exhibition—to 5 p.m. the following day under the theme of 'Value Up of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Big Data,' places great significance on the fact that the public directly participates in solving problems related to land, infrastructure and transport policies.

In particular, all results from this hackathon will be released to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's code repository* so that they can be continuously reused and developed, and the final winning team of the hackathon will be awarded the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award and prize money.

This hackathon is expected to attract significant attention, as it is anticipated that public participation ideas will not only assist in actual policy implementation but also contribute to expanding the foundation of the land, infrastructure, and transport sector, including the private sector and industry.
