LG Electronics leads the clothes dryer market by introducing a new Tromm dryer that significantly enhances capacity and performance through proprietary 'dual inverter heat pump' technology.

LG Electronics has launched a 'dual inverter heat pump' Tromm dryer (model names: RH14VH, RH14WH) capable of drying up to 14kg of laundry in a single cycle.

The new product features the largest drum volume among dryers released domestically. A dryer with a larger drum volume is advantageous not only for large-capacity drying but also for enhancing drying performance. Considering the drying process in which laundry flutters in the airflow inside the drum and moisture remaining in the fabric is expelled, larger capacity allows for more internal space, resulting in better drying efficiency.

The new product enables specialized courses for large capacity. The comforter course perfectly dries even thick winter quilts. The 'bedding refresh' function is also useful for fluffing comforters and pillows. The 'padding refresh' course restores padding volume in just 20 minutes.

The new product dries large loads of laundry using only low-temperature heat via the heat pump method.

LG Electronics increased the number of refrigerant compression devices from one to two to enhance efficiency and performance in the 'dual inverter heat pump,' and additionally equipped an inverter motor inside the dryer that adjusts wind speed, achieving industry-leading drying performance and energy efficiency.

According to test results from the Korea Apparel Testing and Research Institute (KATRI), the electricity cost for drying 5kg of laundry is 117 won based on the 'energy mode.' Using speed mode completes drying in 57 minutes.

Additionally, the 'sterilization course' eliminates 99.99% of harmful bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Klebsiella pneumoniae that can be transmitted to the human body through clothing.

The new product comes standard with a large-capacity water tank, making it installable and usable anywhere in the home with just a power connection.

Since the new product has the same external appearance as 16kg or larger Tromm washing machines, customers can combine the Mini Wash (top-load washing machine) underneath the dryer, arranging the dryer and washing machine vertically and using them simultaneously.

The 'condenser auto-cleaning system' is a feature exclusive to Tromm dryers. Each time the dryer is used, powerful water jets automatically wash the condenser section, eliminating the need for customers to manually clean the condenser. As the dryer is used, fine dust accumulates on the condenser section and obstructs air circulation, potentially reducing drying efficiency. Therefore, this system is considered one of the key technologies that a premium dryer should have.

The smart timer applies LG washing machine weight-sensing technology directly, greatly improving the accuracy of estimated drying time displayed on the screen.

Another advantage is 'smart care,' which recommends optimal courses based on frequently used options and weather information. Customers can dry laundry with the optimal course simply by pressing the smart care button without having to set complex options each time.

In particular, using the dedicated smartphone application allows access to a total of 11 'download courses' including athletic wear, outdoor water-repellent, and refresh modes. Customers can check product status such as water emptying and drying completion, and can also control the unit remotely, offering high utility value.

The new product comes standard with a 'dual safety filter' that neatly collects dust and hair on clothing. The inner filter inside has a fineness of 200 mesh.

The industry predicts that the domestic dryer market will far exceed 1 million units this year. Considering that the domestic dryer market is growing rapidly in recent times but the domestic dryer penetration rate is estimated at around 10% or less, there is significant growth potential going forward.

Heat pump technology has greatly contributed to the recent dryer boom in Korea. Because heat pump technology circulates refrigerant to dry laundry, it offers higher energy efficiency and better fabric protection compared to heater methods that blow hot air directly on fabrics.

Based on differentiated core components and technological capabilities, LG Electronics has achieved technological innovation progressing from conventional heat pumps to △'inverter heat pump' that adjusts motor speed according to circumstances, and △'dual inverter heat pump' that upgrades performance and efficiency by increasing the compressor from one to two units, leading the domestic dryer boom.

Based on confidence in core components such as motors and compressors, LG Electronics provides a 10-year free warranty on both the dual inverter compressor and inverter motor equipped in the new product.
