CUBRID Supplies Open Source DBMS to Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Cloud On-Nara System
Published2018.05.25 11:22CUBRID announced that it supplied its open source DBMS CUBRID to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's recently completed third phase of the cloud On-Nara System upgrade project.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety's On-Nara System is an electronic approval system that records and manages all stages of document processing for administrative agencies, including document creation, review, approval, registration, sharing, and disclosure. To enable safe and effective collaboration among agencies, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety established a system that allows for the integrated storage and utilization of reports and documents produced by each agency in the cloud through a three-phase enhancement project. The enhancement project was conducted based on the G-Cloud infrastructure within the National Information Resources Management Institute, and CUBRID, the standard DBMS of G-Cloud, was applied during this process.
In addition, CUBRID supplied its software to the National Archives of Korea under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for its Cloud Records Management System (CRMS). The National Archives' CRMS is a business system designed to facilitate the joint utilization of central government records at a government-wide level; by transitioning to the cloud, it was developed to manage documents jointly approved through collaboration among multiple ministries as records, and to enable the searching and utilization of records from other ministries.
CUBRID has been expanding the supply of the open source DBMS CUBRID from the pilot project in 2015 through the recently completed third project, and the On-Nara System is currently in operation in 47 institutions, and the Records Management System is in operation in 16 institutions.
"As the importance of open collaboration and communication grows at the government-wide level, the use of cloud-based SaaS is rapidly expanding for efficient operations," said Jung Byung-joo, CEO of CUBRID. "As cloud adoption, which previously began on the websites of major ministries, has expanded to internal business systems, the scope of Cubrid's application is widening," he said.

CubeRide to Provide Open-Source DBMS to the Ministry of Personnel Management's Cyber National Examination Center
CUBRID announced that it has supplied its open-source DBMS 'CUBRID' to the Cyber National Examination Center's National Examination Comprehensive Management System operated by the Ministry of Personnel Management. The 'Cyber National Examination Center' operated by the Ministry of Personnel Management is a website where recruitment announcements and application submissions for national civil service positions, including Grade 5, Grade 7, Grade 9, and diplomatic candidate positions, are conducted. It provides materials such as past exam questions and answers by year, and is configured to allow users to check test results and pass/fail status, register grade adjustments, or file objections regarding answers. The Ministry of Personnel Management replaced the National Examination Comprehensive Management System with CUBRID, a standard DBMS, in the process of transitioning to the G-Cloud operated by the National Information Resources Management Service. After completing the CUBRID open-source DBMS implementation, the Cyber National Examination Center conducted application submissions for the Grade 9 open competition recruitment examination from February 20 to February 23, and stably provided services even in situations where a large volume of traffic was generated in a short period, with more than 200,000 application submissions received over the four-day period.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
