In modern society, people are extremely dependent on electrical equipment and electronic devices. Therefore, when they malfunction, it's inevitable that they'll be confused. Furthermore, it's not easy to intuitively identify where the problem is. This is where a multimeter comes in handy.

A multimeter is an electronic measuring instrument. It's a tool that easily measures physical quantities like current, voltage, resistance, and capacitance. Its ability to measure various physical quantities earns it the name "multimeter." However, multimeters aren't easy to use.
People without electrical knowledge cannot effectively use a multimeter. This is because they cannot understand the meaning of the numbers and graphs displayed on the multimeter. To use a multimeter properly, they must either cultivate electrical knowledge or rely on the help of an electrical professional.

Even experts have their difficulties when handling multimeters. Whether analog or digital, the probe cord is long and can get tangled, the measurement target is far away so it has to be measured in an uncomfortable position, and the measurement data cannot be saved.

At the 2018 Korea Electronics Show, a company presented a product that overcomes the limitations of existing multimeters: Witech.
Witech is a multimeter manufacturing company founded in August 2015 and currently located in the Electronic Components Research Institute Startup Incubation Center in Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do.
With support from Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), Witech developed the smart multimeter "Vion." Vion is a smartphone app-operated multimeter with only a pair of probes, lacking a main unit.

It connects to a smartphone via Bluetooth and has the advantage of being usable without any electrical knowledge. Additionally, it has the function of automatically recognizing fuses, motors, chargers, various batteries, and electrical outlets.
It can also automatically recognize the positive and negative poles, resistance, voltage, etc. input to the probe, automatically save the measurement records and transmit them at the same time, and obtain detailed information through the oscilloscope screen.

It is divided into expert mode and general mode, so it can be easily used by both electrical experts and ordinary people with little knowledge about electricity.

The Bayon app allows users to access information sharing communities and online shopping malls. Containing only a pair of probes, it's easy to carry, and measurement results are displayed in each country's language.
Witech began fundraising on major crowdfunding sites in March. On Indiegogo (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/vion-auto-detection-l-bluetooth-l-smart-multimeter#/), it has surpassed its funding goal by 1906%, and on Tumblbug (https://tumblbug.com/vion), it has surpassed its goal by 876% with 4 days left until the December 11 deadline.

YTech has set the retail price for Byun at 78,000 won. Orders placed on Tumblbug by December 11th will receive a 23% discount, or 60,000 won. Orders can also be made in quantities of 2, 4, 10, or 100, with discounts of up to 49%. Shipping will begin in December and will be completed by December 30th.

Kim Yong-man, CEO of Witech, said, "Byon is a smart multimeter that can be used even by non-experts without electrical knowledge," and added, "It is suitable for experts as well, as it allows for various operations that were not possible with existing multimeters through the app."
